Speaking of couriers, how do you keep the tongue from curling? I have two, and both tongues don’t stay straight.

I’m either going to store it lying flat on its back or put a long, narrow air pillow under the flap so the bottom of the tongue won’t touch the shelf. This is my first Courier rehab so I’ll have to experiment to see what works best. I’ve wanted a Courier for forever so I’m excited to have this addition to my collection!

What I did with mine was pull the tongue up so the top of the flap kind of bulged out and the bottom of the tongue was above the bottom of the bag.

This is what I was thinking of doing. Either with bubble wrap or air pillows.

Ok...she is dry and has lost some colour...bit of a failure on my part...and the places where she was really grimy have gone very yellow looking...tried not to be too hard in cleaning...but second clean might have been too much...but its all a learning curve ...Im not going to do any more to her...quit while Im behind.

Dyeing is a last resort. It is risky because it is so hard to get the dye to go on evenly and have the right sheen and texture. But if you aren't going to use the bag in its current condition, you might as well. You'll get best results if you pick a color that is very close to the original.

Would going a darker pink be ok...or is going black a little dangerous...I feel that Ive ruined it anyway...and as it set me back a grand total of $4 Im willing to take the risk...it means the lining is going to be darker as well...and the creed feels like a different leather..so would that take the colour differently?

What kind of dye are you going to use? Most leather dyes are painted on, so the lining won't be affected, and you may not want to paint the creed. I think darker pink would be okay. In one way, black is safe because black usually covers all flaws, but you might need more than one coat to cover completely, and that will affect the texture much more.

The edge coating on your bag is pink. If you don't want to replace that, it is probably better to stay with pink. Don't use any heat with your dye method or the edge coating will melt.

Havent even got that far yet...was even thinking of asking my local sadlier about it...I dont mind if its black with a pink edge...Im not really a pink person so would be happier with it black....its finding the correct dye ...would have to buy online for it ....which brand would you suggest...might be able to find it in New Zealand.
