Hi @Lake Effect/ I used the same foam board to shape my Gucci bag. It keeps the bottom from sagging.I've been picking up foam board from the dollar store and using that to shape bags while they are drying and while I store them.
Exceedingly cute!!View attachment 4241734

That's odd. Maybe Blackrocks will help. What conditioner have you used? I think I would try leather honey at this point.I recently bought this NYC basic bag while thrifting. At first look it seemed like it would be an easy rehab... it generally just looked like it hadn't been conditioned in a long time (maybe ever). There were no visible stains prior to dunking. After the bath, these odd stains appeared on one side of the bag. I'm not sure what they are.. there doesn't appear to be any stains coming from the inside and it really doesn't appear to be ink. I've done several rounds of conditioning with no change to the stains. Anyone have any guesses on what they are? Or what might help reduce their visibility? They're much more noticeable in person than in the pictures. My next step would be Blackrocks which I know can help even things out. Just curious if there was something else I could try prior to sealing. Thanks for everyone's time!

Sorry, not brave enough for piping !Anyone used leather cement for piping? Can you add colorant (acrylic/dye) to it after it dries?
Yes I do. You can paint over it. If the paint is acrylic craft paint, you'll need to add some gloss to make it the right sheen.Anyone used leather cement for piping? Can you add colorant (acrylic/dye) to it after it dries?

Hey guys i have a bit of a "sticky" situation going on with my pony express, shes a bit of a problem child. I think i put to much conditioner on her, and it feels kind of sticky, especially on the edging. I've already dunked the bag twice and don't really want to do it again because I already ruined the strap. Can I wipe down the edges with a little vinegar? Should I just not worry about it? Any suggestions?
I put blackrocks on it a while ago, I tried to wipe it off but it still feels sticky, i will try the blow dryer technique. thank you!Vinegar might work. Which conditioner is sticky? Sometimes if you wait awhile, it will soak in and the stickiness will go away. That usually happens when Blackrocks is put on too thick. You can also try putting it someplace warm or heating it up with a hairdryer, which should melt the conditioner and help it soak in, and then you can buff to remove the excess.
I find this happens quite often with Blackrocks. Puts me off using it.I put blackrocks on it a while ago, I tried to wipe it off but it still feels sticky, i will try the blow dryer technique. thank you!
I don't have a problem as long as I wipe it off immediately with a paper towel. I only do a small area, then wipe, then do another area.I find this happens quite often with Blackrocks. Puts me off using it.
