That isn't unusual for a Willis bag (or any bag with a similar ring, like a Logan or Post Pouch). I try to massage it in the bath and that seems to help, but you may not be able to get rid of it.Sorry, hit "post reply" before finishing...where the brass ring impressed it
I can't see much but a darkened spot, but I would give it a long soak in warm water, maybe scrub a little vinegar straight onto the spot if you need to. I have a lighter color Willis that has bad marks like that and I never could get them out but I think a bath did lighten them a lot.Help! My BT Willis has an indentation on the front flap. That looks good. I don't know if you really need Obenaufs. I don't use it on every bag. I don't really like it very much. Yes, a dunk is in a tub or sinkful of warm water with a little soap, like Dawn. They also make special products for washing leather but I just use my dish soap, which isn't even Dawn. Immerse the bag in the warm water, swish it around, gently wash the bag, then let it soak for 15 to 30 minutes. You can scrub gently, mostly on the suede insides. You don't want to use anything that might damage the leather. The water may turn gray.Ok this is my first post in this forum. I picked up a used coach bag a few weeks ago, stumbled across this website and ive been hooked. I want to try my hand at rehabbing a bag and have read a lot of this thread. The one I got at gw yesterday was auth'ed over on the authentication thread and it seems like it is a slim satchel standard 9430. It is black (I saw the recommendation to use a black bag as your first). I have a few products in my Amazon cart based off of posts here and I just want to know if I am missing anything crutial. Also I want to make sure I have read this right... When you guys say "dunk" a bag you mean in a bath of warm water ya? It took me a while to wrap my head around that, haha. I will enclose pics of the bag and my Amazon. Any help is appreciated. I would feel horrible if I mess this bag up.

Thanks. What’s zit cream? For stains, I used zit cream and then put the bag in the sun. It bleaches them out. Worked really good on some white bags, not so much on others. If you are worried about conditioners darkening, you could try Saphir creme delicate.
benzoyl peroxide. It's basically bleach in cream form. You can put it just on the spots that need it without getting it everywhere, so you can cover an ink line and just bleach that out.Thanks. What’s zit cream?
That’s exactly what I have, a spectator with British tan trim. I used Leather Therapy and although I can’t swear that it was the culprit, I think it did yellow it a bit. I am really disappointed in how that bag turned out, the white part doesn’t even feel right. But it’s my summer kick around bag, so I am not crying for it.It was a spectator white and British tan saddle bag vintage I would call it bright white. I always go sparingly on the blackrocks. but I didn't experience any color changes from the products. Other opinions welcome.
This may be an extremely stupid question, but does it have to be outdoors or just direct sunlight? I live in a city building, so no outdoor space other than a fire escape.benzoyl peroxide. I have no idea. I assume the sun helps it bleach so it would have to be in sunlight. It will probably work some without that, but I think it works better in the sun. I left mine out for several hours and left it on for another day before removing it.This may be an extremely stupid question, but does it have to be outdoors or just direct sunlight? Like I said before, with these kind of handles, I don't like to soak them too long. Inspect the handles before the dunk to make sure there aren't only holes where water can get inside. I think they might be stuffed with cardboard or something like that so if it gets wet inside, it could get mushy.
I would not order the Obenauf product, if I were you. I bought it some months ago and have not used it. I do use Obenauf oil for really dry bags.
I agree with others...you probably don't want the Obenauf's LP which is for boots. For your bag, I would just go with Leather CPR and Blackrock. Have fun on your first rehab!
