So little story, I went to a consignment / thrift store today, and the lady asked if I was looking for anything. I said, any vintage coach bags, she showed me what she had, and then got to talking about how to "make them look better" she said cheerfully, rub them with alcohol! Then put vaseline on and let it sit. (I gave her this look) No wonder the bags in her shop all felt like sandpaper. The end.
That's just crazy talk! But yeah, God only knows what people are doing to bags.

Funnny, but not funny. People are crazy. I bet she was really serious when she told you that......

Does anyone have a recommendation for leather, in terms of getting it more supple? I scored a really amazing deal on a vintage Willis, and while the leather itself is in great shape, I feel like it needs more plumping if that makes any sense. I've tried Cadillac and Blackrocks on it, and while the Blackrocks improved it the most, I was wondering if there was some other tried and true product to help get the leather back to like new.

For really dry leather, I use Leather Honey or mink oil. However, it may darken it unevenly.
