So I ended up buying the bag as the seller assured me that there was not any color missing in the spot I saw on the bag in the picture. I received it today and OMG it is the softest most beautiful leather I've seen so far on a vintage Coach! It is absolutely divine. And actually there are a couple weird pockmark looking things that the camera must have picked up and amplified. It's like the cow had some slight age spots or warts or something. But they're hardly noticeable in person and don't keep me from loving this bag!

Here are the warts/spots taken in afternoon sunlight:

Great, it sounds like some sort of variation that doesn't diminish the appearance for you. And I completely get what you mean about the leather. The leather on the the flaps of my Patti's and Ranch are amazing. In fact my Ranch all in all has amazing leather. As does my Bancroft. Which still boggles my mind for bags that are 20 to 25 years old. Enjoy

Oh my.... I picked up some more rehabs yesterday even though I only just finished a batch. My Goodwill had a ton of beat up Coach! Mostly signature stuff I don't want but I still picked up a few goodies.I really had to use some self control not to buy more than this... I'm pretty excited with my haul!

Quite a haul! I need to plan my next vacation in your neighborhood. The Goodwills around here never have any Coach.

Hold onto your wallet! Actually I got a goodwill gift card as a Mother's Day gift LOL... I asked for it and my DH thought that was a cool idea. Anyway, that wasn't enough for all these so the rest cleared out my paypal account from some recent ebay selling. Nice to have that little bit of money to use.

That one's going to need a good bit of glue as well as tlc! A little edging has come unstitched on the strap. Also some edge kote will be required.

What is the name of the two toned one? I do have a couple from that release already but I can't remember what it's called. They have the most beautiful hangtags. It is a great size! About the same as the city bag but with an extra divider inside.

I recently purchased a Coach Willis 9927 that has quite a bit of fading on it. I would love to rehab the bag back to it's original color. It's in the British Tan color. I don't have any pictures of the bag at the moment. Has anyone ever had to re-color the bag? Especially to match the British Tan shade? I saw online Leather Care Supply website they sell Leather Refinish Color Restorer Dye in the shade British Tan. Or can anyone recommend leather dye that would match? The only thing I've done to the bag is washed the bag and conditioned it with some Coach lotion. I'm a newbie so I'm not sure what I should be doing. Are there links of people who had gone through this process to rehab their Willis especially in this color shade. Any help would be much appreciated. Do I have to use the Leather Finish Preparer first? Will that strip off all the color off the leather? Help!

Try Obenauf's oil to deepen the color. It does amazing things to British tan!

I really doubt you need to recolor the bag. You just aren't using the right products. Coach lotion isn't the right conditioner for rehabs. Try Leather CPR, several coats a day apart, buffing after they soak in. Then Blackrock Leather n Rich for the final coat or two. At the most, you'll have to touch up the corners, which you can do with Leather Refinisher mixed with Coach conditioner. You don't need the leather finish preparer, and I strongly advise against trying to recolor an entire bag. The Leather refinisher doesn't have the same texture as real leather. It is acrylic and if put on too thick, it is bad for the leather and looks bad.

I agree with everything you said, especially about the leather refinisher. I recently had to return two beautiful vintage New York City Coach bags that someone had done this to, essentially ruining them. The pictures in the listings didn't reveal the problem. It was only obvious when seeing and touching the leather in person.

Here's before and after of a Willis I just finished rehabbing. I LOVE it! I've wanted one in BT forever and I was very happy to find this at GW. I don't know if all my pictures are coming in sideways but I also don't know how to fix it!

And this medium backpack. So far I have only put on a coat of CPR and I think I can get out more of the scratches with some blackrocks and maybe even Obenaufs:

Here's a repost of a rehab I did on the bag in question. I used Leather CPR then obenauf's, I think that's all.

Wow, you must live in the coolest neighborhood to score all those finds! You could open your own vintage Coach store! Oops...sorry, maybe you do!

It’s great to see all these special bags get new life!
