What is the best way to get red leather back into condition? I've done a really good cleaning with Cadillac leather lotion, but it doesn't have any luster. Also, is there a way to lessen the wear marks on the corners?
Beautiful, you did well! There here!!!!! The equestrian looks perfect like it was just made, but its vintage this year!the leather still squeaks View attachment 4047826 View attachment 4047832 when the flap and straps move.Someone must have went back in a time machine for this one.lolwhats this color? It's actually a Patricia Nash purse and wallet that used to be cranberry, but is now a sad reddish/orange. I know this is a Coach forum, but you guys have some really good ideas, so I was hoping...Also, I've gone to a couple leather places and they haven't heard of Leather CPR, or Blackrock. They suggested Tarrago shoe cream?A lot depends on the type of leather. Normally, if we're talking about a vintage Coach bag, I would bathe and condition it with Leather CPR and Blackrock, buffing in between coats. (You can search this thread for detailed how-to instructions.)
Is yours a vintage Coach bag, or something else? If you can post pictures, maybe we can offer more specific suggestions.
You can get Leather CPR at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Sometimes it is at Tuesday Morning or Marshalls. Also sometimes a tackle shop will have it. I've seen Blackrock at a shoe repair. I usually order mine online. I also use Bick 4 and Saphir Creme Delicate for certain leathers, usually not Coach. Different types of leather react differently to different conditioners. It's actually a Patricia Nash purse and wallet that used to be cranberry, but is now a sad reddish/orange. I saw Banana , although , now that I think of it, not a neutral!I'm never sure either, and continue to discover color names I've never seen. I just made a list of the "tans" I know of:
British Tan
Saddle
Buckskin
Honey
Camel
Buff (Sonoma)
Marigold (Sonoma)
Chamois (Sonoma, Hamptons)
Birch (Hudson)
I'm sure there are more!
That looks great! Wonderful first jobI just finished my first rehab. I bought a vintage black Willis from ebay. It wasn't in the best shape but I think I got it in pretty good shape. Here's how it came out. I took pictures of when I first took it out the package, after bathing it, conditioning it the first time and then the final result.
