Wow, nice! The color looks beautiful. Thanks for the detailed write-up (especially the tip about the sponges) and gorgeous pics.
Well you love BT as well, from what I see  I think I may be in for a new avi, getting an idea from @houseof999 ’s avi!
I am glad to give a quick overview. I have learned so much from others here (I believe @whateve posted about using makeup sponges). I really enjoy seeing other rehabs, whether they are basic cleaning or more involved. We seem to be getting new posters all the time, and who knows how many lurkers. And I lurked for a while myself before joining. So why not share?
I was feeling a bit *meh* after I got this tote. I figured I may as well clean it up, possibly to gift or sell. The leather is really soft. While applying the CPR and seeing it stand on its own, this bag really won me over. And she will glow a bit more with Blackrock.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know what's happening/ happened to this bag? I was so exited to get it (yay, slim pouch!) But when I saw it in real life, it had some very tiny dark spots on the front. I dunked it hoping I could even it out, and it smelled gross, but whIle drying it looks even worse! It looked like someone might have used a sort of waterproofing spray on it, but I'm not sure if that is related. How do I fix this beauty! I was thinking of obenaufs leather oil?
Definitely mold. Which is gross, and a pain to clean up, but there are some things you can do. It was always there, so don't worry that you made it worse, the mold would have surfaced eventually, bath or no bath. Since you say that it had small spots pre wash, the mold was already existent.

I have dealt with mold on a coach bag or two. First, do not condition it until you kill the mold spores otherwise it will just come back. Start with a clean(bathed) bag, treat, then condition. Vinegar straight will kill most mold. Get some cotton pads and regular white vinegar and soak the spots suede side with vinegar. Make sure you really soak it so that it can penetrate and kill the whole spore. Wipe the smooth side of the leather with vinegar but do not soak as much. There is also a product that is non toxic that kills and treats mold (keeps it away) called concrobium mold control (spray) that you can get at home depot. I used it as a final treatment on a particularly musty moldy bag and it has kept it from any further damage/growth.

Treat with vinegar and let dry completely - sun is also very good for killing mold. You can't just rely on sun though - you do need the vinegar. After you have treated all of the bag and it's dry, then you can condition. As a final step I used the concrobium spray dabbed on the suede side. The dark spots may have permanently stained the leather, but a conditioner that darkens leather may help it blend in. A good one is leather therapy (amazon), which also has anti mold agents in it. Mold is no fun, but there are fixes. The bag may look great when you are done with it!

Oh - forgot - when re-bathing I rinse the bag with some vinegar in the rinse water. It doesn't hurt the leather at all.

Hello everyone! Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, but I need help!! This is what happened...
My husband's demon cat decided it was going to jump onto my bed and spray my absolute favorite (nearly) vintage coach duffle(#9058). So I jump up, dropping everything from my bag as I run as fast as I can to my kitchen sink to Wash it off. After vinegar, baking soda, and dish soap in a bath (I was desperate!!) The smell and stain came out. All is dry, but quite a bit of the dye came out, and it is in desperate need of a redying. Does anyone know of a good leather purse redying place anywhere in or near the Atlanta area?I have tried the process before and it did not end pretty. Any advice is greatly appreciated.*sorry for the long post

It probably just needs deep conditioning to bring back the color and moisture. Try some leather CPR (you can get at Marshalls for $6.99) and if that isn't enough, Obenauf's oil darkens (Amazon). What color is it?

Found this cute baby Mini Winnie at Goodwill Boutique today. Mostly just needs a bath and reshape!

Hi everyone! I am considering buying this purse to rehab. (I've asked for authentication on the coach authenticator's thread and am waiting to hear back.) If you take a look you'll see two small darkened spots on the front flap. I've never tried rehabbing a bag before. Do you think the spots might come out? Does this purse look like a good candidate?

There's really no way to know if the spots will come out. It's always a risk. If you can live with them not cleaning out then go for it. But if the spots will make the bag unuseable by your standards I wouldn't buy it.

If you add a few deep scratches to to front, deepen the stain on the fold, add a weird (what I hope was ink from an uncapped pen) stain inside and a hang tag that looked like it was run over and I’d swear that was my BT City bag, pre rehab. It’s like they all wear uniformly. And this isn’t the first I’ve seen that reminds me of mine.
