Hi! I just purchased a bag from a co-worker and I think its called Peyton and it is a metallic leather. It has some spots that I would like to remove but was wondering if that is even possible. Thanks
Post pictures. The spots could be from wear, rather than stains, so your best bet might be to paint them with metallic paint.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone know what's happening/ happened to this bag? I was so exited to get it (yay, slim pouch!) But when I saw it in real life, it had some very tiny dark spots on the front. I dunked it hoping I could even it out, and it smelled gross, but whIle drying it looks even worse! It looked like someone might have used a sort of waterproofing spray on it, but I'm not sure if that is related. How do I fix this beauty! I was thinking of obenaufs leather oil?

It's mold. You should probably use vinegar on it or set it out in the sun. It might be permanently damaged.

If it didn't look like that in the listing, it might have had moisture in the package when it was shipped.

Thanks whatev. I looked up some photos of leather with mold and I think you're right. Hopefully I can save it! It's quite gloomy in the winter here, so I'll try vinegar....

Not sure if it happened during shipping or not. It's hard to tell in the list photo.

I'm sorry if it's been asked before... I got a "new to me" used bag on the Bay and it's the Black Cherry Legacy Carryall. It looks great, however I it's got some rough looking corners. Is there an easy way to repair/recover these corners? TIA!

I haven't been successful in replenishing the color on the corners of Legacy bags. I don't know what is different about the way these are made but nothing I tried worked. I use Blackrocks Leather n Rich to keep them from getting worse.

Obenauf's might indeed help mask those spots by darkening it. Drying it in the sun for a bit can help kill mold too, as well as the necessary vinegar dunk which may help neutralize the odor. Good luck!

Okay, ready to post a little before and after action. Classic compartment tote, last August, late night impulse bid on 7 inch tablet. *side note : New Year's resolution #1. No more late night bidding on 7 inch tablet*
20171111_092142.jpg 20171111_092130.jpg So considering it was less than $30, no real surprises. Garden variety wear, a few scratches n the funkiness on the bottom. Storage slump/squash (as opposed to shipping squash lol). I kinda put this on the back burner. On the same August night, I had also put a bid on a NYC Market tote. Also won. So I was definitely giving that bag the love.

After a 20 minute dunk in warm water and 1/2 oz Lexol cleaner and light toothbrush scrub, 20 minute warm water rinse, several apps of Leather CPR, this bag has won me ovah! I had ordered Saphir Juvacuir recolorant (Google the Hanger Project) in medium brown. Which if you ask me is a dead on match for British Tan. I mixed some with some Cadillac conditioner. It did not cover the wear on the edges completely. So this afternoon I applied more ( I use those triangle make-up sponges) straight onto the edges and I am satisfied! I was waffling about applying an app of Obenauf's O. I don't think it needs it. All it needs is an app of Blackrock, which I will do tomorrow. Even though the recolorant dried quickly, I will let it set : ) 20171216_195307.jpg 20171216_195336.jpg 20171216_195353.jpg 20171216_195421.jpg

And yes, I applied the recolorant to the scratch in between the handles and a patch on the same panel in the upper right. I would bet it was from adhesive. Like a goodwill price tag. I am pleased with how it helped it to blend in at least 80 %

Wow, nice! The color looks beautiful. Thanks for the detailed write-up (especially the tip about the sponges) and gorgeous pics.
