Either but if the leather is old and needs tlc I'm more likely to moisturize the edges after a day or so while the rest is dampI have never washed a bag and curious. Do you moisturize the leather when it is dry or damp?
Both! Moisturize while damp, then again when dry and, depending on how dry the bag feels, again. Wait a day between applications and buff each time.I have never washed a bag and curious. Do you moisturize the leather when it is dry or damp?
I'm throwing in the towel and ordering a leather punch. Here's what Ive got so far with puff paint, acrylic + conditioner and fabric fusion. (Pic 4&5 - pic 1 was after fabric fusion and puff paint only) It's better than where I started (pic 2 and 3) But still not looking so good. Really shows worse IRL than in photos. My new problem will be figuring out which measurement to use punching the new holes as these had no real rhyme or reason. To be continued....View attachment 3842532View attachment 3842531 View attachment 3842529View attachment 3842526 View attachment 3842526
Girl, I give you credit. I would have taken one look at those "holes" and started a search for *red handbag replacement strap*!!I'm throwing in the towel and ordering a leather punch. Yes, I will post it most certainly. I have seen a couple of leather craftsmen on Etsy that make some beautiful items. They are giving me ideas. I am also going to craft show on Saturday and will keep my eye out for ideas.@dgphoto yes, those holes were crazy...looked like a five year old did it. Thanks @Lake Effect - I got the hole punch this morning and tried it on the first mangled one...Problem is the "holes" were originally done in such a way that they "slit" the leather on the backside of strap, so the hole gets bigger. ; ( I've picked out the puff paint and am back to painting with conditioner and acrylic. May try to live with it for a while (or look at ordering a new strap!) I LOVE the idea of a pretty hand tooled strap. Please post pictures if you get one.
Both look great! The small one is probably a compact pouch if it is about 8 x 8 inches. My two rehabs I completed over the weekend are done! Does anyone know the name of the small flap bag? Onto my next rehabView attachment 3843654 View attachment 3843655
