That's insane! Now I know why we rehab on this thread! I appreciation all of the advice. I gave a friend a Coach and she took it to a cobbler. The bag cost me $5, she paid the cobbler $40 to rehab. I looked at her and became angry. How foolish can you be? That was ridiculous!
I've had a few come out stiff. I wondered if it was the soap I used or if I didn't rinse it well enough. If the leather wasn't really dry when you got it, that could be the problem.
For super dry stiff leather, I have used mink oil. I am using Skidmore's Leather cream on a very stiff dry, brittle bag and so far, I love the results.
Whateve, I'm interested in adding the Skidmore leather cream to my arsenal of rehab tools and wanted to confirm that the 6 oz tub is the right one to get? Would it be okay to use BlackRocks on top of this? Thanks.
Just found a medium size, medium brown flap bag a large American eagle embossed on the outside flap. The tiny metal Coach tag is mounted to the open interior pocket. Never seen this one before. I don't know if I should rehab it or leave it as is.
Thoughts.
That is the one I got. I got it on ebay. I really like it. It softens the leather and doesn't feel sticky, like can happen if you use too much Blackrocks. I don't see why you couldn't use Blackrocks on top of Skidmore's.
Thanks for the comments. Do you think I should go ahead and rehab it, or leave it as it is? I would use it either way, but in the rough, just with jeans.I've seen it before. There was one asked about on the Authenticate Thread a long time ago. I believe it is very rare. Could you post pictures?

I just got my jar of blackrocks, how do I apply it?

Here is a photo of the Eagle embossing.
Thanks for the confirm. The one I found is on ebay too.
I'm wondering, when would be the right time to add it in? I'm working on the bag with the holes on the piping and even after about 4 applications of leather CPR (not sure if I'm overdoing it but it does not feel sticky) there are some areas that seem dry/brittle.
Ooh, nice! I think I would rehab it. The embossing on creeds survives baths so I don't know why this wouldn't.
