Thanks! I was just lucky to find such a nice little bag. I didn't really do much to it.

Thanks! Your two rehabs look great - I especially like the red one. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to find one of them. In our area it seems like I find old Coach bags at Goodwill more often than Savers.
I'm lucky...I live about 10 miles outside of Boston so there are a lot of Goodwills, Savers, Salvation Army and I found a new store, Boomerangs- another thrift store that I've had luck at. Thanks re: the bags.....the red Patricia Legacy, I actually bought on the Bay and paid a lot for me - 51 plus 12 shipping.....but I love red, like everyone else and it is such a roomy bag!

I found this baby (Coach 4157) at Savers last week. It was not zip tied with their other "valuable" bags, but was hanging with the junky bags. Anyway, it was marked $19.99 but I had a 30% off coupon and so I got it for $14. It's stamped FS on the flap, so I believe it's a factory second, but the only thing I could find wrong was a tiny spot on the bottom, which I vanquished with a dot of acrylic paint. It was in new condition, but I washed it anyway, and it looks great with just a couple coats of Lexol.

Gorgeous bag and I love those Savers coupons and discount days!

I believe that an FS stamp FS means "final sale" indicating that is was flawed or damaged and cannot be returned or sent to Coach for repair; but sometimes the damage is very slight. I bought a final sale legacy bridgit from the outlet (it was stamped with 2 bulleyes, not FS) and the only flaw I found was a spot of adhesive on the legacy striped lining. I came off easily and didn't leave a mark!

Thanks! And also thanks for the info re FS. I'd never seen it before.

awww....sorry about that ....make a deal, I'll trade you this strap for a red Gracie strap, if ya got any lying around!
Sorry, I don't have a red Gracie strap. That will be almost impossible to find. I have the matching card case though even though I don't have any red Madison.

I found a really cute vintage Timberland purse that has a strap that matches my Roswell perfectly. Most of the time I don't need the strap. I can fit the handles on my shoulder if necessary. I'm rehabbing the Timberland purse but I don't know if I will ever carry it.

This looks awesome!!! So did you use the Soillove on the outside of the purse at all?
No, I didn't - was afraid to on a red bag because I was using it for the first time....on the front, there are light, black marks that I didn't notice before washing so I don't think they are ink...I'm thinking it is the grain of the leather that shows through after washing? just a guess. My daughter said you can barely notice them and mom is being too picky!;)

Don't you love when that works out - you can use that strap for another bag? Yay! I figured I wouldn't be able to find a strap for my Gracie but that's okay...love it, anyway....that will have to be rehabbed soon...will involve some touchup with paint....don't know why I'm so nervous to paint...:faint:

My Gracie (beechnut or maple) is also missing the strap and I have pretty much given up hope of ever finding one for it. :shucks:

If I could find a brushed gold chain strap that might work, but I would have to be careful not to let it wear away the leather on the edges of the flap.

When I was bidding on my Gracie, I came across your post, katev and I love that idea...in fact, I saw a cheapish bag with a chain the other day when thrifting and thought of the Gracie but it was too big and clunky....we can still carry it by the handle. I also have bought 2 Royaltons (Butter and Beechnut) and a black with brown trim Sheridan Richmond so I'm getting an Italian collection going....:smile1:
