Hey can you guys tell me how you can get a vintage hangtags? Or do you just get one that matches?

If it is missing from the purse, the only way is to find one on another bag or on ebay. The hangtags you can get from Coach aren't the vintage style but you can use them. For some of my bags that I can't find a match, I use a metal hangtag, which you can get from Coach.

if you don't get it to match that way, others have mentioned the color "linen" being a good match to some of the whiter bags in the American Folk line of paints I believe.

thanks!! I was able to get a close match, it didn't cover the whole thing, but unless you pick up the bag to see it you won't notice, and luckily is in the back, so it's not noticeable when using it

I can't get inspired to do any rehabbing. I cleaned up my rehab room during the holidays. Now I can't get motivated. I have several bags languishing in a pile.

I bought an equestrian bag from ebay that is in transit and I just got a message from Ebay's loss prevention department that the listing has been removed! I am pretty sure that it is authentic so I don't know why it was removed. The listing had a picture of the creed. Now I have to anxiously wait for it to get here so I can get it authenticated.

I was off work today and actually home alone for the first time in I don't know how long and I dunked a navy Chadwick satchel I've been meaning to get to. She's shivering on a towel in the bathroom right now, my house is kinda cold but I swear I'm going to work out in a minute (have been saying that all day) and don't want to heat it up too much.

I want to spruce this one up, sometimes I kind of like the worn in leather look but I already ordered some Wood n' Stuff navy refinisher for it. She looks pretty now while she's wet but I don't think BlackRocks is going to get this one where I want it to be and I don't consider it "classic" enough to not mess with it.

Ok, so I'm getting ready to do my thrift store Legacy Zip (my first rehab!) in the next day or so. And I have a couple of (maybe dumb) questions.

The inside has some stains. Should I "rub" them for lack of a better word, or do I just submerse the whole thing and not mess with it?

Does it matter when you add conditioner, i.e. does it have to be exactly when it dries or can it wait a day or two?

Thanks for all the help! This thread is fantastic (I've now read the whole thing I believe. )

It is usually better to try to work on stains before dunking.

I would love to find a rehab bag, that way DH might not have to much to say... LOL. I really love the Court Bag and the Stewardess Bag, not sure if the Stewardess is an older version.

There are vintage Stewardess bags. According to Coach.com, it was introduced in 1977, making it one of the oldest styles you could find. I find my Stewardess to be one of my most useful vintage bags because it is a little bigger than most.

Thank you, I found a few Vintage bags on ebay this morning, I am building up the courage to buy one (or some) actually rehab it. I don't want to get all gung ho and buy several and I may not like rehabing them. I am going to learn as much as I can from all of you seasoned rehabers so that I feel confident. DH may actually help me with it, he is good with this kind of stuff.

Let us know what you end up getting. Remember darker colors are easier to rehab than light ones.

I found a vintage Willis in pretty good condition except for one thing - missing strap. I called the Coach website and they are unavailable right now (in black with brass hardware). Do you guys have any suggestions where to get a replacement? If I were to have one made, what is the width?

Silver-coach on ebay http://myworld.ebay.com/silver-coach/

The width is 3/4 inches. It is 41 inches in length from hardware to hardware at the tightest setting and adjusts about 3 inches longer.

Thanks! I've never seen this company before.

If you tell Silver Coach which bag you're ordering it for they will make sure it matches-they know their Coach.

However, keep in mind that another Willis will likely roll around so unless the "strapless" one is really cheap it might be worth waiting it out.

Also don't forget to authenticate!

Thank you, that's good to know about telling them which bag it is.

Well, I already bought it...They had it priced at $50, but I said I thought it was too high considering it was missing the strap, so they lowered it to $35, and then I got the senior discount on top of that, so it was just under $25. I thought it was an "okay" deal because it's in great shape (it really doesn't need rehabbing) and I didn't have to pay shipping.
