Waah, I want to go to your Savers, Katev! The nearest one to me rarely has anything good. I've pulled a few Coach belts out of there, and some Brooks Brothers ties that sold nicely on ebay, but that's about it. Oh, and 1 pair of Cole Haan moccasins. :/
So here's a silly question: how do the finished bags feel, after you condition them? I am working on a little Casey bag that already looks a billion times better, but even after buffing, she feels a little waxy. I overdid it with the blackrocks the first time, and so I let her sit for almost 2 weeks before I tried anything else with her. She no longer has that tacky/gummy feeling from overconditioning, but just feels slightly waxy. Is that how she is supposed to feel after conditioning? Or do I need to keep buffing?
My eBay purchased navy City bag. Finally finished the rehab on her and a couple others. She didn't have a hang tag so I still need to find one for her!

They usually feel soft and smooshy, if they feel waxy or tacky then I overdid the conditioners. You did the right thing in letting it sit, and you could try giving it more time, but letting the leather rest for 2 weeks is usually more than enough time!
When that happens I ususally wipe it down with lexol cleaner to try and remove that excess conditioner feeling.

It was in great shape, just a little dirty and misshapen as you can see in this pic. It had a slight musty smell but not bad, I am sure that this bag was taken care of over the years. I decided to dunk her to reshape and remove the smell and that worked fine. They just a couple of applications of leather cpr - I didn't even have to polish the hardware!

This is really amazing. I'm very interested in whatever you find out about this bag since I bought a nearly identical one at Goodwill yesterday! I would have described it as dark camel. Mine isn't in as good condition as yours. It has a weird ring on one side as if someone put a can of Coke on it or something. Even though I'd never seen one like this before I thought it was authentic because the straps remind me of the basic bag, and the leather is really sumptuous. The number on mine is 096 6104.
that's terrific, I hope you post pics! But the mystery is solved!
