I ONLY carry vintage Coach bags. I strongly prefer the older leather. I also carry vintage Fossil (the vintage pebbled leather is TDF), vintage Furla, and thrifted or ebay'd older Francesco Biasia. My only new (as opposed to new-to-me) bags are my Perla European style briefcase given to me for 10 years at my job, and a red Frye Brooke small satchel I just got. I LOVE the Frye satchel, and if you like the feel of older USA made Coach, Frye might appeal to you. It is also made in the US, and the leather is quite similar to older Coach leather - thick and soft. Stylistically they are different, but if you like the styles they will probably appeal to you quality-wise.

A progress shot of my made-in-NYC Basic Bag. Still needs some conditioning and hardware still to be polished, but she's coming along very nicely! For being about 30 years old give or take, she's in great structural shape. Not a single scuff or scrape on the piping. And the leather is crazy thick. Love it! Not pictured here, but I love the double strap that came on the older Basic Bags, too. This will be a great bag for running errands once she's all done.

Savers (also called Value Village) often has sales and coupons and that can really help. I recently bought a black Patricia's Legacy there for $20. It had been marked $40 but I had a 50% off coupon.

My local Savers gives a 25% off discount to everyone on Mondays, and on Tuesdays anybody that is 55 or older receives a 25% off discount. They periodically run other discount promotions as well. Like they will stamp a card for every $5 purchase and when you fill the card you get 30% off. Apply for a Savers Card - no fee, just a membership card to receive information and special offers.

If you donate any number of items to Savers they will give you 2 coupons good for future purchases. One coupon is for $3 off on a purchase of at least $10 and the other coupon is for a percentage off on your entire order. The percentage varies, sometimes they give 25% or 30% or 20%. If I see some decent items around the house that I want to get rid of, I often put them in a bag and leave them in the trunk of my car so that I will qualify for a donation reward the next time I am at Savers...

Here's an example, I found this mahogany Stewardess, in decent shape, at the Savers this morning and it was marked $45, but I had a 20% off coupon for donating an (unwanted but nice) bag of household goods, so I got the bag for only $36 - which I think is a fair price for this bag in this condition.

She's so pretty!

Please advise - my rehab attempts always seem to dry quickly and this time I was about 12 hours behind where I wanted to be with the first coat of CPR. After 12 more hours I went straight to Blackrock as the edges were drier than I originally realized. I noticed a small peeling area in the leather. What glue or product would you advise to glue this down?

Thank you.

You could try touching up with acryllic paint, and I have heard good things about Fabric Fusion adhesive. There is also a leather filler product that I haven't tried yet. I think it is made by Tandy or Fieblings?

Help! Here is the pic a couple if you had asked for. My legacy duffle with lip stain balm on the front. It looks worse in real life. Is there anything I can do?

I'm sorry none of us have had any ideas for your bag. I was thinking about it today and the only thing I could come up with is maybe use some sort of leather conditioner. Since oily substances remove make up from our skin it might work on leather. The next option would be the make-up remover that you would use to remove the lip stain from your lips. Which may take off more color from the bag, I have no idea.

You could try washing the bag but we don't know if that will get the stain off, and since none of us have washed the new legacy bags we don't know what that would do to it either.

I would probably go in steps, but be prepared to do it all at once...try the conditioner, if that doesn't work, try the make up remover, and if that doesn't work, go right to washing it.

Ultimately you need to decide if the bag is carryable as is. If it's going to hang in the closet or into the trash it might be worth taking some risks, or dying the bag a different color-I'd probably go to a pro for that on this bag.

And try not to be too hard on your daughter or bring it up too often. Believe it or not now, you'll be laughing about it some day...really, you will.

My BFF is on the altar guild at her church, one of her jobs is washing the linens from the Sunday service. She swears by Dawn, squirts some on, lets it soak a bit and handwashes it out. Many women at church wear bright red lipstick and it stains the linens. I would give it a shot.

Hello Rehab experts! I have a question, and pardon me if it's been asked in here before. Can I dunk a lined bag? I've got a mini hobo in red (style 9844) that smells of cigarettes! Or do you advise another method? THANKS!
