That might be the perfect design. A little. Difficult though. I wonder if I could get away with using a sharper ultra fine point for some of the details. I fear I would smear the design if I fry to Apple it.

...Um, I'd be kinda afraid for the design if you fried an apple to it too! :roflmfao:

I like the cherry blossom idea, but that's just me. Good luck, and of course, we all want pics when you're done. Frying apples, bag painting, cherry blossoms and all. :p

LoL, no fried apples.
I just watched a couple of tutorials for leather painting and I am tempted to pick up some special paints especially for leather since I will be covering a larger area. I have read several conflicting views on painting leather. Some say acrylic is fine, others say you need a special paint for leather. I have only used it very sparingly but so far, so good.

I am looking forward to your results and hearing your opinions about different paints! Good luck!

I am considering of purchase this coach vtg bag from ebay. But I do see some stains in the back of the purse (drink/food?), which I'd like to know if it would be easy to clean and how to do that. Thank you so much for your opinion!

At $9.00 it might be worth a shot. There's no way to know for sure if you don't know WHAT the stain is. I've had some things come clean, and some didn't in the past. Most of us who buy bags with stains, are willing to take a gamble that it might not come clean, but if the price is low enough -we do take a chance and go for it. You can wash these vintage Coaches in a sink full of soapy water, and if it's a grease based stain, you can even use Dawn dish soap and try to get the stain out. Once you've washed it, you'll have to see if it worked. Then you'd condition it if it looks like the stain is gone or minimized enough. If you DO go ahead and buy it, check back with us, and we can post links to how to wash and condition the bag.

Thank you so much for your reply, Jessi319!

So I won my red Regis! However it showed up with a tear in the fabric on the outside pocket. The seller was great and refunded me $10, so I only paid $31 for this! Besides the rip it is it pretty much perfect condition and is an amazing shade of red. Here is a picture of the tear. Do you guys think I should try fixing it somehow? I was thinking fabric glue or something but don't want it to seep through the leather or anything. Advice?

Yes, there is a glue you can find at Michaels called "instant vynil" it works well with leather. If you need to, use one of those cuticle pusher things to try to push the fabric back under the leather if it needs it.

Can anyone offer some advice on how to repair worn thru piping on an older black stewardess bag? I remember reading about a repair kit found in craft stores, but can't locate that post. Thanks.

Wow! The cherry blossoms on the red purse are coming out beautiful! I can't wait to see the finished result...
I got a Tribeca today in the mail, bought it on Etsy, and it was listed as Navy, but after a nice wash, it is black... I can't wait for it to dry!

And on the seam that is loose above, perhaps hot glue... it works really well on fabric, and I don't think it would go through the leather... of course, I have not tried it, so try it on a small area first...
