Oh wow, what beauty! You do like those classic green bags! I'm that way about Italian Coach bags!

LOL...funny you should say that since one of the two bags I'm WAITING for is an Italian ..Pierre (?) I think it's called. The auction had a good photo, but no further description and I took a chance on it being a legit bag. It'll be my FIRST Italian Coach bag if it turns out to be ok.

Can't wait to see it, but I warn you, Italian Coach bags are habit-forming!

I totally LOVE the pine Kristen btw. Now you've got me looking at those too...heaven help me!
My one seller with the bag I want the MOST, sent me a note with an apology. According to her feedback she is usually a fairly quick shipper but had been away a few days-- and is usually someone who allows her buyers a week to pay. Probably hadn't planned on getting such a quick paymet.

HAH! I lucked out on that Kristin, I hadn't seen one for less than $100 except for the one that was missing a strap that sold in the 80's, I think.

I've had a couple of people with late sipments that communicated, one even sent a "oops, I forgot" note and I'm OK with that but these are taking an unreasonably long time and I don't think they fall under "power outage" conditions.

What a find, you are very lucky and in such great condition too.

Although I'm pretty sure the Coach bag I thrifted today is real, I posted it in the authentication thread, just because I think I might end up selling it since it's not exactly my taste (hence, I want to be 110% sure of its authenticity)... But I believe it's a Bonnie Cashin era purse, so I'm hoping I can clean the bag up and find someone to enjoy it! What do you all think? The bag is in beautiful condition, save for some scratching on the leather. The piping, the interior, and everything else looks wonderful!

Obviously my self control is totally CRAP!!!
I SWEAR......I WASN'T SHOPPING....i was being really really GOOD... til I saw that freakin bag...LOL. I literally had to go and list a bunch of bags on ebay this week so that I could justify getting it after the other two that I'd just bought a few days before that one (& I don't think those two shippers are ever going to send the others btw!!! sheesh the wait is killing me)....

But unlike so many other bags on my wish list that I'd been ignoring like a good girl, I saw that one and thought "what are the chances of finding a matched set like this????"
and because this bag wasn't listed in the traditional way that my normal searches are set up...(In other words, this hadn't shown up on my saved search lists -which all have different keywords that I don't think was in this green bag's auction, like vintage, or Cashin or kisslock etc etc) I just happened to be looking for another green bag style # and this one just popped up with only a day or two left on the auction. No worries about the bid up...If any of you guys had wanted it worse than me and had outbid me I'd have totally understood.
That is so funny! I just assumed that you weren't interested since you already had one. I had other bags I was bidding on so I didn't want to spend too much. I'm glad we didn't bid you up too high. Ledobe said she thought it would hit $80, so you got a good deal! It appears to be great shape!

I have been posting my green bags in the green thread and I realized that I have a lot more green than I realized, including 6 vintage bags, so I really don't need another one (unless it is a Baxter!).

I wonder how many other auctions we have been bidding each other up on!

I have a watermelon tote like this in mahogany. I bet yours will clean up beautifully.

That's an awesome bag!! I keep eyeing these and have resisted up to this point since I'm not big on the short handles, but that kisslock pocket always grabs me! Someday I won't be able to help myself and I'll add one of these to the growing collection.

Thank you! I knew I wanted to buy it as soon as I saw it. Like I said, it's not my style of bag, but it's beautifully kept in such lovely condition, I couldn't help myself!

What a find, you are very lucky and in such great condition too.

Many thanks! The bag right next to this was a very, very, very beat up Coach Willis in black. This was definitely the right option!

I'm sure the mahogany is an absolutely beautiful color! I believe the color of mine is British tan - I haven't rehabbed a lighter colored bag before, so I'm hesitant with where to start... I'm actually wondering if I should actually rehab the bag at all, since I plan on passing it along, anyway.

LOL, I originally looked at the post on my phone and was only getting the "before" picture-I love the bag, but I couldn't figure out katev's response saying it was gorgeous...I knew I was missing something, it was the "after" picture!

And yes, lovely! I am so into the green bags lately! Somethings gotta give!

hahahaha!:D

Me too! I have one little item that ended and I paid on the 7th that was marked shipped sunday the 15th but still isn't showing tracking info, and one that ended on the 8th that was marked as shipped on the 15th but has only been scanned once-so it shows up way across the country still. That one conceivably could show up tomorrow because sometimes USPS doesn't scan, but still, it took almost a week before they shipped it.

Torture I tell you. And I bought a goofy little bag yesterday and I bet I'll get that one sooner. That's why I was so shocked to get the Pine Kristin. The seller hadn't marked it as shipped and it had only been two days, it didn't even occur to me that it would be on my doorstep Saturday.

So, guess who's NOT getting 5 stars for shipping?

Wow, I hope you have a surprise coming in the mail soon!! that IS way too long.
My "HG wish list" bag is "out for delivery" today....woohoo:yahoo:I hope she's in decent shape. Pics seemed ok, but hard to tell with no zoom function.

The Italian hopeful just left Texas today so that may take a couple more days.
so...gonna go stare at my mail box now LOL

I really think you should do at least a minimal rehab. A bath and conditioning will improve the look immensely and you will be able to make more money selling it than you would if you hadn't rehabbed. It will also be a good way to try a light colored bag that you aren't so in love with that you might be too worried to touch. This bag might be a perfect candidate for blackrocks.

I think you're right, a little bath will do wonders for her, plumps the leather and I think it allows the conditioner to abosorb better.

I too have not jumped on one of these because of the short handles, though I expect at some point one at the right price, color and condition will win my heart. It's such a cute bag.

well the bag whateve enabled me into buying Saturday night came today-I might have to do a little reveal on this one, it's kinda special.

The ONE I've been waiting for is in town today, finally got scanned a second time but it was at 9AM so I knew it wouldn't be on the truck. I should mention the bag I got today came from the same state.

The one item I bought, just a little bracelet, that is taking the longest, still has no tracking info. Probably sitting in the back seat of the sellers car.

I got my green italian bag from Texas...I'm just one state over so as I recall it came pretty quick.
