No!!! I think it would be a disaster! Just getting a drop of water on vachetta makes a big ugly stain. I can't imagine what would happen if the entire thing were dunked. I don't think it would darken evenly.

I just spent the day replacing the drain pump in my washing machine (washing machine rehab!) so she got a reprieve.

I think it's hilarious that the washing machine broke the day my hubby left town, and I fixed it myself before he got home. I texted him that he is officially expendable now.

Of course, it took me hours to figure out how to do it, and find the right tools and check and double check that I was using the correct screws, and he probably would have gotten it done in 30 minutes...but that's OK!

hello all,
I've got my best friend turned onto vintage Coach, yeah!!! She wants a vintage bag, with some structure to it, prefers either a shoulder strap or a cross body style, AND must hold ipad... any suggestions? Any one with experience... I was thinking a Willis... but not sure of the dimensions....
thanks,
haven't been on in a bit... dontcha hate it when work gets in the way of your life!!! lol!
thanks,
night...

I recommend a Willis for all of your requirements, but I also love the Whitney for its neat pockets. Or a Stewardess is pretty awesome too.

Patricia's Legacy is 11x 10 x4

I don't have a Willis or an iPad, but I thought I remember reading somewhere that it was perfect for an iPad? I would guess it wouldn't fit much else though.

I may have to get an iPad to go with my Slim Tote, she deserves it. ;)

I think the Willis might be too small. The Stewardess is big enough. If she wants something more structured, she could consider the #9995 large shopper. It has a cross body strap but is pretty rare. The dimensions are great though - it is 13" by 11" by 5"". If she wants to go really vintage, then the slim tote might work. It is 12" by 11" by 2" and the double handles are long enough to wear on your shoulder.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll get a few pics and show her all the above mentioned bags, see what she thinks. I know she's got one of those bomb-proof covers on her ipad and I think that would add some size...hmmm.... so many rehab choices!!!!
thanks again!
:smile1:

WOW! They look gorgeous!

Looks amazing katev!! Inspiring, as always! What was the white stuff on the first convertible clutch? Dust, or something-I-probably-don't-want-to-know....

Thanks!

I think it was dust and dirt on the burgandy convertible clutch. I was afraid that it was mold but the bag didn't smell musty so I took a chance and it cleaned up pretty easily, but you never know for sure!

What a happy day...I've been such a good girl so far this year, Santa came early! You may remember I asked for a Dremel for Christmas!

Check out what I found at a local thrift store for $2.99! And it works! And I can use it to brush and buff leather and even has an extra cover for the buffer so I can clean hardware too! (I think the brushes are nylon, not sure if I'll use them or figure out a way to convert them to buffers too.) Anyway, it'll get used.

Oh yeah...and I found a barely used can of Brasso at an estate sale and a cute little Coach wristlet at Goodwill for $3.99 (I just posted it on the AT thread)!

Sometimes simple things just make me happy...It's a good day!

Now I'm excited to see the results! Go shine something and report back! ;)

I'm finishing up a lovely brown Bleeker Bag, so I used the Brasso on the big buckles, let it dry and wiped it off. That's picture #1.

Then I fired up the new Presto Power Buffer...well there's lots of fuzzy white stuff flying around (I guess Grandpa didn't use HIS Christmas present too often, if ever), but the results I think are going to be amazing. Picture #2 if after just about a minute of buffing the other buckle. For sure, I've never made my hardware shine like this. It's gonna take a little practice (do I hold the purse or the buffer between my knees?), but I'm sure I'll figure something out...it's certainly promising!

I also use the brush and the other buffing pad on the strap, with nice results. I'll post a completed reveal (with better macros) in a day or so.

I remember my father had a shoe polisher like that. I wonder what happened to it. I think I would have just walked right by it in the thrift store without thinking about the possibilities. Now I'll have to go looking for one!
