So after yesterday's panic using Blackrocks for the first time...I'm a believer now! Just when I thought I understood what squooshy was...now this! This product is simply amazing...after 2 light coats, drying in between and a good buff with a horsehair brush this morning...Wow! No rub-off and the sheen is wonderful. It makes me think there are a few recent rehabs that I could revisit...and probably improve.

Considering she's from the mid to late 70s, she looks fabulous! They just don't make bags like this any more...I'm consider myself very lucky to have this one,
and know how to take care of her. The only drawback is that the hardware appears to be plated :(

Thanks everyone for the tips and tricks that helped me make this happen!
great job this bag looks SOOOOOOOooooo good now!! Congratulations and enjoy wearing it!!

Absolutely gorgeous! I find the black rocks very helpful in evening out the color and covering flaws. After I discovered black rocks and revisited some of my earlier rehabs too.

I have encountered plated hardware that had worn off and left the dull gray metal, but I have also successfully got rid of the tarnish and brought back the shine on a few bags using Wenol. I highly recommend it as a metal polish.
Hi Kate, where do you think I would be able to purchase Wenol? Any major chain retailers that carry it?

I didn't know you may be able to find Lexol wipes at the auto store, I'm going to try that the next time I need them. I get them at the tack shop but they might be cheaper at the auto supply store. I use them a lot because I use the cleaning and the conditioning wipes before putting bags into storage, thanks!

AFAIK, it is cheaper at big box stores (Auto/Target), fingers crossed for you. (I used to buy lexol products in the car section of the north side Target, just don't remember if I found the wipes there. My father had me cleaning car seats before I was old enough to care about handbags, lol, and several luxury car dealers recommended lexol.)

My mom just emailed me that she found Leather CPR at her local Tuesday Morning, thanks for the tip! (She got some for me, and some for my dad and his car seats ;-)

Will Blackrocks always pick up added color - like the acrylic mixed with conditioner on the Slim Satchel? Or was I applying the Blackrocks too soon, before the acrylic was completely set in? (You know me, it's that impatience thing...I want results - NOW!)

While you were away, I spent hours reading Docride's Hermes Rehab extravaganza... not quite all of it, but a couple hundred pages, at least.

One of the most helpful tips I found is the use of a plain old white or pink eraser to lift surface spots. I've gone back to the red Legacy Small Hobo I worked on a couple of weeks ago. (http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-624452-178.html#post21795132) I suspect the black that is still present after her bath on the folds below the buckles and on the under side of the strap is color transfer, maybe from a black leather jacket. The white eraser, used very gently, is helping lift the black from the strap, and a little from the folds. I applied Blackrocks to the underside of the strap late yesterday and it took off some red, not any black. Looks good this morning. Do you have any other suggestions? Would you Blackrock all over? I always appreciate your advice!

So I just got this bag - love love love. The leather is everything you would expect a Coach bag to be. However... I'd really love a longer strap on it since I plan to use it for traveling. Thoughts on the best place to take it to have that added? I'm thinking to have them add rings to the sides so the strap could be detachable... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

I have never mixed black rocks with acrylic but it contains wax so I don't know if it will mix very well.

I was asking if you thought the Blackrocks would help take off the black color transfer? (Sorry, it was confusing when I just re-read it!) Or do you have another product suggestion? It seems to me that because Blackrocks contains wax it should be used last...correct? The white eraser is doing a fair job, working slowly, but there's a lot of black on the surface. It's a overcast drizzly day down here today, don't know if I can get pics.

I always appreciate your help.
