Tan bags are a challenge to rehab because they are lighter in color. I am sure that you can make it look a lot better but like dstalksalot says, that big spot will probably remain. When you clean and condition the color will get a little richer and darker and that will help, too. Is it missing the long strap, too?

Yeah, no long strap, but I'm not opposed to hand carrying a bag, or elbow-carrying.

I think the wear will make it look more interesting and vintage, but I also don't want it to look like crap! Glad it was only $15.

Does anyone know what this bag is called or year it was released?

It might be a scooter bag? You should post more pics in the authentication thread (it's on the shopping page) including pics of the creed patch inside. If the creed patch and number are worn, try brushing with talc or light eyeshadow to make them more visible.

It is the Scooter Bag - I have the same bag - it was around for several years - I had one and my mother took it - so I got myself another one - I believe it cost somewhere between $80.00 - $90.00 it was while Coach was still not part of a conglomerate. It looks somewhat beat up, but some cleaner and mositurizer will go a long way with that bag. I like the size and shape - it can fit nicely in a larger tote and is big enough to hold keys, cell phone and a few other things. Good luck with the rehab.

I once bought a tan scooter bag in excellent condition, it was fake! There were misspellings in the creed, very embarassing! But the scooter really is a cute little bag!

Thank you so much!! Could you tell me what year(s) this bag is from? Story patch reads that it was handcrafted in the United States.

Date can only be told by reading the creed. If you can't take a picture of the creed, then read it to us, including the numbers/letters at the bottom. The creed shows things like "date", as well as whether or not the bag is actually real. (As I know katev pointed out above, there are fake scooters out there, and it's always reassuring to know you have a real one.) :flowers:

I just finished washing my latest rehab bag. A crescent saddle hippie. The one with the seam down the center. This style is a favorite style of mine. Gonna try the leather CPR on it to see how it goes.

Why am I addicted to refurbishing bags? Seriously, its kind of silly.

But it's fun! Tonight I did conditioner coat #3 on my brown Court bag and she's looking fine, and coat #4 on my burgundy Baxter. Both are looking great, and I think I want to carry the Court bag tomorrow.

It just feels good to feel like you're taking care of a quality piece of craftsmanship that has been neglected. Sense of accomplishment and pride!

Is there a waterproofing treatment safe to use on my "new" (used from e-bay) Coach Girlie suede hobo? (thanks Hyacinth for the authentication/id) Its so cute & green :) I'm sure it'll never be a plunk-it-on-the-bench-next-to-the-kid-with-the-spaghetti durable like my station bag, and for the $12 I paid I suppose I shouldn't worry too much, but I like it more than I thought I would ... :p

I haven't tried it on a suede bag, but I just recently started using the Apple Rain Garde spray and I am so happy that I did! I am going to try it on lots of my bags (see link below.)

I know what you mean about the Girlie Hobo, I have one in wool, and I only spent $9 bucks on it, but I would be very sad to see it dirtied or damaged! They are interesting, sweet little bags.
