@ltbag thanks for posting the long list of Rogue info!

So I think I posted about the first grey rogue I had missing the clochette and what the SA told me when I returned it. I wanted to actually reorder but was concerned about receiving another one missing pieces. She told me that the new ones did not have the clochette - I told her I know and this one was from 2017 and the creed even had 2017. She said if it had clochette they may have removed. She also said that they may be using old creeds on new bags. In short, she didn't think it would pay to reorder.

At this point I don't trust Coach much. But the 3 Rogues I got the last couple days (I am bad) were 2016, 2017, 2018 models. Can I trust the creed?

ALL of those should have clochettes. They didn't start making 3rd version of Rogue until the very end of 2018. I think the sales associate has no idea about the creeds. For the first generation of rogues and even the early second generation of rogues they were all using a generic creed and serial number RG-20315

I do not think they are using old creeds on new bags, unless its that generic creed I listed and they are going back to that. Just my opinion though.

And as for your question on the smaller tag for the beechwood, I looked at my exotics, and they all have smaller tags than my regular rogues. That tag is the right one in my opinion. :)

Thank you! I figured she didn't know what she was talking about but like I said...my trust in Coach is not very strong at this point. Of course I picked up another bag when when I returned first one and now that I have a perfect grey rogue I want to return but feel dumb. My friend says...it is ok...you can change your mind. I would have reordered but SA essentially talked me out of it!

Thanks again for your research.

It wouldn't make sense to use old creeds on new bags. As far as I know, they create the creeds when they manufacture the bags. They don't have a bunch of old creeds laying around to use up.

Thank you...that's what I suspected but she was going on and on about it. Like I said, almost trying to talk me out of reordering. And I did reorder maybe 2 weeks later and got a perfect one!

If you are like me at all, if you have ANY doubts about a bag, it will sit in your closet unused. Return it and get one that has all it's bells and whistles and is exactly what you want :)

Don’t feel bad about returning a bag. I hardly return a bag because I always want to keep them all but if this one just doesn’t feel just right, return it. My thought process for returning a bag I love but know I won’t use is this: by returning the bag I’m allowing it to go to someone else who will love and cherish it like I do with the ones I keep. It helps me with the return process  Goofy thought process but it helps me say goodbye!

Thank you! I just returned something to outlet other day and the SAs were going on and on about so sure that someone got it!

Is it just me or is Coach Factory quality control not very strong? I ordered a coated canvas mini skinny and when I received it it has excess wax or glue or whatever it is they used to coat over on it. I mean who really wants something with the excess residue showing. Is it just me and my OCD or what? Lol. I don't mind marks and nicks if I make them, but being excited for something new that already has visible and ugly marks is depressing.
Not just you. I received a Minnie Mouse wristlet with hot glue sticking out. I also got a Dinky without a strap (and that was very beat up). It's pretty common, I think.

That's depressing :(
I know how annoyed I am when I receive a NWT item that's like that, so I can understand how you felt upon receiving your damaged items. It really stinks, you pay for NEW things and want them to look new when they are new, and gradually have the used look appear. Do you still shop Coach Outlet or has it made you boycott it for a bit?

Thank you for responding, Happy Tuesday!

I totally agree! I make YouTube videos, and people always comment when I complain that I should have expected it, because outlet items have to be damaged to get to the outlet. But that's not the way Coach markets its outlet. They don't say it's for damaged and defective items. They say it's simpler designs (https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/outlet-stores-quality-1.3392279 - "Generally, our manufactured-for-outlet product will be less embellished — using less overall hardware and/or simpler hardware, may not have an exterior pocket, or may have a narrower gusset, may have a simpler (non-branded) lining, or may use a flat versus tumbled leather — compared to the retail bag that inspired it.").

I don't shop at Coach in general right now. I had such a bad experience with the Dinky (called CS and they apologized and told me to take it to a retail store, but then the retail store manager was a complete jerk and refused to even touch the bag because it came from the outlet) that I'm kind of cold towards the brand in general right now. I'm sure I'll get suckered in again at some point, but right now, I'm just happy with my vintage Court bag and buying anything else pre-loved (at a steep discount) on Poshmark or Mercari.

I don't blame you. The vintage leathers are very nice! I disagree with the Youtube commentors. Just because you pay for outlet products that doesn't mean they should deliberately go out of their way to give bad quality. I'll never figure out some people's thinking (the Youtube commentors).

Since this is the Coach factory thread, let’s make this simple and not confusing, stick to what we need to know when we buy a bag from the Coach Factory online sale (FOS) or Coach outlet store:

So we purchased a bag, regardless of what style or materials used, refer to the creed sewn inside the bag (not the paper price tag or style number used for found orders):

Bag purchased has a F in the inside creed:

1. This was manufactured to sell ONLY at the outlet, this bag will not ever be at the retail/boutique. The style may be in the Coach retail store/online BUT that F in the creed will always designate this bag as a Made for Factory bag.

2. For resellers: this bag cannot be described as a retail bag because of the F in the creed. Even if the bag looks exactly like a retail bag, that F creed makes it a made for factory/outlet bag. A buyer could open a fraud/not as described bag claim if it’s claimed as a retail bag.

3. Returning/exchanging this bag: this can only be done at the Coach Outlet stores or via Coach Factory Online. **** the Retail Coach at one time could mail out the outlet bag for you but that, I believe, is not possible now, always refer to your receipt for more information . As always, Coach’s return policies seem to change.

*************************************************************

Bag purchased has NO F in the creed:

1. This bag was manufactured for sale in the Coach retail store. It either came from the retail where it didn’t sell and sent to the outlet store for discounted sale or it came from the retail surplus inventory at the warehouse (Jacksonville, FL). These bags are referred as Coach reserve or deletes at the outlet/FOS. This bag will always be designated or authenticated as a retail bag. *****but look at the creed! This is where it gets muddy, some bags are advertised on the FOS or placed at the outlet stores with signs indicating as retail bags but we have seen some with that F placed in the creed. We have seen this in some of these recent styles : Nomad(Mae), Rogue shoulder bags, Rogue 17, Dinky, Swagger, Drifter, Cooper. Why does Coach do this? Who knows??? Just to keep us crazy! :confused1:

2. For resellers: regardless of where this bag was originally purchased (retail or FOS/outlet), this bag can be described and advertised as a retail bag because there is no F in the creed. This is where that F plays an important part for the market. The no F creed may make this bag more valuable or thought of as higher quality.

3. Returns/exchanges: Retail bags can be exchange/returned at the Coach stores but if it was purchased at the outlet/FOS, you have to go thru there. **again check your receipt for more details.

DISCLAIMER: this is what is known now, as we have all learned in the past years, Coach has fun with us in changing their sale tactics.

If you are buying a bag and you are not sure if it’s a real, fake, retail or outlet bag, head over to the Authenticate This Coach Thread. The crew over there are rock stars! They know their stuff!

Hope this helps streamline our discussions.... now let’s get back to shopping or for some of us, head over to the Involuntary Ban Thread to try not to shop!

I couldn’t edit my original post so.... wanted to add this just to make sure it’s understood that when we talk about the famous F in the creed we are referring to the F in the second set of numbers. The first set of number may have a F or other letters, this usually refers to the month, year, plant code, but for the purpose of made for factory items.... it’s the second set of numbers that start with the famous F which would indicate it’s a made for factory bag.
