Coach Factory Online Sale Discussion Thread

I felt like I didn't want to get anything, and then I looked at some of the items in the butterfly dot print, but when I blew one of them up (the card case, in this instance) it just looked...cheap. The print wasn't consistent (some were thicker than others), and that halfhearted "Coach" stamp (which I feel looks ready to just get rubbed off in a second) both turned me off from it.

Maybe that's my own bit of FP snobbery, but if I look at your detailed image and come away not wanting to buy, there's something wrong. =X

I'm with you -- it's not FP snobbery -- it's a reality check. I zoomed in on a few things and just thought "tacky". I'm just responding to your post here, and I know it's a public forum, but I never want to insult someone that's a fan of these items...mainly because I often have "low-brow" taste myself... :giggle:

I have been hearing that the charms have a tendency to drop off rings like the one shown with the robot charm below; what type of clasp did your fob have?

That one is different because there is nothing securing the robot to the ring. I have that one too and noticed the risk right away.

If you look at the Baseman fob on the website you can see the chain is attached to the ring. Mine separated where the leather charm is attached to the chain. I looked down and I just had a little chain attached to my bag with no Buster on the end.

I see what you are saying, this might be one of those situations that Whateve mentioned when you can use strong thread to secure the fob to the hardware, see below:

I hadn't heard Ledobe lost her Baseman charm. That is terrible. Sometimes I'm so worried I'll lose a fob or hangtag that I'm constantly checking. It spoils the fun of having the charm in the first place. If I know the charm is going to stay on the bag, like the feather on my Dakotah, I use strong thread strung through the rings. It isn't noticeable and it makes me feel more secure.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I saw that the same charm was on the sale this morning so I called them back. They said they only had one left in stock but she would try to get it shipped to me. So there's that. At least there will be some sort of record that I called because I'm skeptical that I'll actually get one. But it will be on record that they tried to help so maybe I can get a refund if it doesn't come in.

At any rate, the reason I posted this initially was to warn every one to check the attachment of these leather charms to the chain, as it separated, so it doesn't happen to them. OK, and to maybe gripe a little bit that CS didn't help me. I was also not very pleased to see that they had them on the sale again, after telling me yesterday that they were not available.

I give up. I received my replacement charm today and they sent the wrong one. I wouldn't even care if I didn't already have this one. :(

And something similar happened with my last order. I'm afraid they are going to think I'm scamming them.
