Has anyone seen the Derby Tote in stores? I'm just wondering if the inside has lining and all the pockets...Thanks!

I don't understand this type of marketing by Coach....blocking some customers. Can someone explain it to me? Makes no sense!
They claim it's to give "everyone" a chance to buy. I haven't had an invitation in years, so I guess I used up my chances. Up until recently, though, you could get into the online sale without an invitation.

The longer I go without out purchasing any Coach the less of my money they will have and the less likely I will want anything in the future. But they will presumably get a newer customer, so it sounds like a great strategy. ( sarcasm font)

I found a couple of drill down pics of the black derby tote F58660 and the oxblood lining looks gorgeous! It looks like a suede leather lining and a large zip pocket.

 if you know the hardware and color codes for the bag you like I could try and find more pictures.

Thank you, katev! I was looking at this tote as well.

How much are they asking for the Derby Tote? It looks like a nice MFF tote. I've been comparing it to my 30381 UECNH Bonded EW Town Tote Retro Borough.

They are similar bags but the Derby looks bigger/taller, perhaps it is a NS tote? And I like that it has a snap closure unlike my Retro but it has cloth handles and I prefer leather, although the Derby's handles appear longer. I can wear my Retro as a shoulder bag but not with a thicker coat.

They both have colorful suede lining and I love that. The Derby also appears to be pebbled leather and I like that (and smooth, glove-tanned leather) much better than crossgrain; but the leather may be thin, which would be lightweight but I prefer thick leather. Has anyone held/touched the Derby Tote yet? How substantial does it feel?

Here are pictures of my Retro tote so you can see the differences I am talking about, it is warm gray with oxford blue lining. The leather looks stiffer and thicker, I don't know if the Derby could stand up by itself and it might puddle; I don't care for bags that puddle!

Good morning, katev! I haven't actually seen nor touched the Derby Tote yet, but hoping to get to the outlets sometime over the holiday so I can check it out. I will report back if I can get there. I have the beautiful medium soft Borough in tan so I appreciate your affection for the Boroughs!

I really doubt this is true. I had a lot of trouble in the beginning getting an invite, but I've been on nonstop since 2011. In 2013, I was buying heavily and also returning a lot. I only placed one order in 2016.

Hello katev! I just saw the Derby Tote in an email invitation I received from the outlet yesterday. It caught my eye bec. it reminds me somehow of the NS "mickey mouse" tote.[emoji4] Your Borough is gorgeous.[emoji307] I'll try to visit the outlet this holiday break and will post updates.

The outlet I was at this morning had this in black and brown, on sale for $114 with all the discounts. The leather portion was nice enough but I didn't like the fabric handles. I thought it made the bag look cheap overall.

Thank you so much for your reply! I thought the leather looked good in the photos but so hard to determine without actually touching and seeing the bag in person. I appreciate your thoughts and will keep them in mind if I get to the outlets.

What is it you are thinking isn't true? That I said I couldn't get on the FOS site or their explanation?

I assure you I don't get invites, never have ( I don't even remember one). I used to be able to get in even so, but not anymore. When I wrote to question it they have me the "random" rhetoric.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't mean that what you said about your experience wasn't true. I meant that it wasn't true that it was random and to assure all buyers had a chance. If that were true, all of us would have been affected. What I was saying is that I've been on since 2011, and if they were really trying to give all buyers a chance, I would have been kicked off long ago.
