Here are pics of the comparisons between the navy with gold hardware and black with black hardware. If either bag fake? I hope not
Both bags look great and are definitely authentic. Just another thing to check is the side of the inner zipper. It should always be marked YKK. I’m sure these are but just a tip. The lining is really important too because the fakes usually can’t replicate the nylon type lining SM uses. Now that you have 2 authentic bags it will help you determine authenticity for future Falabellas! 😉 Best of luck with both bags. They’re both beautiful!! 💕 And we’re always here to authenticate any others because they’re addicting…

Ok, I didn’t see all of your concerns before I responded. The stiffer lining just means it wasn’t used as much as the black one. I’ve had the black on black bags and honestly can’t remember if both sides of the disk were marked. I’ll look into that for you because now I’m curious as to why that is. I see you already know about the zippers. The faux leather inside the bag is probably just from them being different years. Did you buy both bags from Fashionphile? They’re pretty reputable but I occasionally find fake Falabellas on Real Real. As for the difference in chains I noticed the black ones were lighter than the silver or gold ones. So no worries there. They’re both authentic so enjoy them! They look great too!

Thank so much for replying! So even with the differences you think the black bag is authentic? What I don't understand is why does the long chain strap have slightly different chain links compared to my navy Falabella with gold hardware. It's like the links on the black hardware are not as chunky as the gold hardware and doesn't have that deep diamond cut on the links. On the black chain going around the bag they are chunky like the gold hardware, and the 2 black short straps are ALMOST the same but the long black strap does not have that nice deep diamond cut and is close to looking like regular chain links imp. Is there an explanation on why there is such a great difference, down to the dustbag? I guess that is how it goes when you buy preloved :( lol

Yes I did get both bags from Fashionphile. I trust Fashionphile for the most part however I would not be surprised if a fake creeps in from time to time. I have no idea how knowledgeable the autenicators are on EVERY bag they sell. The link holding the Stella charm disc is different as well but maybe they changed their hardware and I just happen to come across 2 authentic bags with revisions? Well I'll stop harping on it. I like the bag and it looks nice however $415 plus tax is a lot for a fake bag if it's fake. All these several differences just makes me wonder. I apologize for being all over the place. I was hoping someone would have an answer to why it's different so it can make sense to me. Lol

Two people who are very familiar with Falabellas and have bought and sold many over the years have told you the bags are authentic. If you are still uncomfortable just return them and purchase your Falabellas from the store. Paying full price will not only get you a new bag but peace of mind.

I hear what you are stating to me. I was wondering if there was an explanation of why there are differences and if anyone knew. Manufacturers change up at times for different reasons. On this forum, I have found people that knew specifics on certain brands. If I have offended anyone by asking so many questions out of my curiosities, it was not my intent and I apologize. Have a nice rest of the week, wishing everyone love, peace and joy.

You were not just asking about the differences. You clearly stated that you still believe the bag you bought could be a fake.

I mean it with the best of intentions...just buy it from the store. I have faced this before. Some buyers are just not ready for the second-hand market. There is no issue of offence...your questions just show that there is no way someone can convince you of something that you are unsure of. You will do better returning your Falabellas and pooling the money to buy a new one from the store.

Ok thank you for your reply Jess. I wanted to know if people that had knowledge on the bags (you and Jteach7) would also have knowledge on why there are so many differences between the 2 bags that are 2 yrs apart. That was the reason for me asking. You are 100 percent, when in doubt, just buy from the boutique, which I am aware. I appreciate your time to authenticate the navy bag and also Jteach7 doing both bags. Peace to you.

You still stated that you thought the bag could be fake. Both Jteach7 and I told you they were real. That's all we can do. You are asking because you are scared that the bags are fake - despite the fact that we both told you they were authentic.

I have experience with buyers like you...they will not be content with their purchases. Go to the store and see the bags IRL.
When you get to know the bags better, then you can buy them second-hand. Don't feel badly that you are not comfortable buying used bags. The store experience, a new bag and peace of mind are worth the price sometimes.

Hi Jteach7, I apologize to you for all the questions. I'm a curious person, always wanting to know the details and was questioning to pick your brain. I apologize if I caused any offense. I just never came across 2 of the same bags in any brand that are so close in age that would have so many differences. This is the first. Anyhow I wanted to thank you again and also clear the air. Thanks again for your time for looking at both bags. :) Have a great rest of the week! :)

I agree the cardholders are great because they are soft and getting cards out is easy. Also, the slots are not too loose, so the cards stay put. I like bags of every size and it all depends on what I need to do and what I'm carrying. Yes the LV speedy might not be the easiest to get into but I think the 25 looks cuter. I almost never wear my speedy.

The tiny Falabella is on my radar! Perfect errand day bag or casual day bag. I can usually make do with a card case and lipstick. Something in a bold color would be great. I also like the smaller crossbody. They might not fit a lot but they really dress up a basic outfit.

Clearly it's terrible that people want to profit off others by selling fakes but the other side of the coin is education. Don't buy something you aren't familiar with. At the very least, authenticate before you buy.

It's interesting this increased interest in Falabellas. They were always a little bit more under the radar and never an "it" bag. I prefer it this way because I think it's a classic that will be around for years.

Hi Jess! I have read some “it” bag articles on Pinterest and I remember seeing the Falabella made the list in 2016 I think. If not then 2014. It’s great to see more people getting into them. I rarely see them but once saw a woman with a black small tote and I had to stop her and compliment her bag. It looked so good! They definitely dress up any outfit.
That’s funny I mentioned the tiny and you’re interested in getting one. I did buy my hot pink mini from Japan on eBay for an awesome price. It was under $200. It looks decent but I’ll see when it comes. They haven’t shipped it yet so I hope they actually have it still. Sometimes they don’t update the listings when they sell stuff in their store. Have you ever bought bags from Japan? Another bag enthusiast friend of mine told me Japan has very strict counterfeiting laws so it’s pretty safe to buy from them. Although recently I’ve seen a few fakes from Japan which surprised me. I guess the fakes got a little better so they’re not picking up on them unfortunately.
I was on a speedy kick last summer, bought 2 30s and one 25. Returned the 25 and after restoring the other 2 I just sold them because I knew I wouldn’t use them much. LV is nice but not so much my style. I love hardware on a bag. You should definitely get a Fendi baguette! All 3 of mine have logos on them. They’re very comfortable to carry because they’re the lightest bags I have besides a few Longchamps that are great for traveling.

no need to apologize. I’ll just say that with any designer bag they’re not going to be identical from year to year, or even season to season. I have a Balenciaga City and now they look nothing like mine does. Designers switch it up to keep it fresh each season and to ward off counterfeiters. If you don’t trust Jess and I, feel free to use a paid authentication service for them to tell you the same thing. Or you can always purchase new. These changes are trivial in all honesty. Don’t drive yourself crazy. Hope that helps.

I recall that Falabellas were on lists of "most searched" bags and sometimes they might be on an "it" bag list but they really never achieved that status. Too many people think it's outrageous to pay those prices for synthetic bags. They don't realize that these bags outlast most leather bags and don't have to be babied - which makes it worth it to me. I still see Falabellas here and there. While it's not frequent, it's often enough to know they are still popular.

I actually mentioned the tiny in one of our first correspondences because it's been on my radar since spring. I bought the mini in mist instead but I will be getting a tiny in some bolder color. I posted two Tinies - one pink and one silver.

$200 is an incredible price. I bought my mist full price at the store just because I wanted it for the spring/summer time - no patience. I've never purchased from Japan. If I purchase a Stella at discount, I still usually find reputable places that have them on sale because I like my Stellas new - although I have purchased second-hand quite a few times. I didn't know that about Japan...maybe in the future I can look into options on Ebay for my future Tiny bag. I also like the new Stella bags - mini crystal mesh (posted below - one silver and one black).

I'd wear the 25 speedy but my 30 gets no love. I have a few LVs and I do enjoy them. Always will love LV. They have a lot of new and interesting bags.

Fendi is amazing. I was going to get an older bag they still had at the boutique - the Kan U but in the end decided that I will wait and get the baguette in logo - maybe for Christmas!tinysilver.pngTinypink.pngCrystalmeshblack.pngcrystalmeshsilver.png

The new crystal mesh bags.
Hi Jess! My friend who actually bought the first Falabella I ever sold many years ago just bought a tiny and loves it. She said it fits a card holder, keys and phone and they’re really lightweight. The crystal mesh bags are pretty cool. Might be a tad small for me but I like the texture on the bag. It probably really shimmers at night. I’m a sucker for either hot pink or pinkish beige bags. So I love the hot pink tiny! My hot pink mini is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. It was just mailed from Japan 3 days ago. DHL is seriously fast. I’m in the US, but know people from all over post here. Hopefully it’s in great condition once I have it but for the price it was worth it. I wanted it for summer but who knows I’ll probably try it out beforehand. I’ve been pretty lucky with preowned Falabellas as they’ve all been pretty spotless. But I’m picky when looking. A lot of people find them too heavy and rarely use them so then you can get lucky. But I totally understand being impulsive too. I impulsively bought a Belstaff bag at Saks with silver hardware all over it. I paid a lot and then learned not many people have ever heard of Belstaff so I sold it for a small fraction of what I paid. After that I mostly buy preowned which is what prompted me to learn as much as possible about authentic Falabellas. I can also authenticate most older Balenciaga, Valentino and Fendi. I have to learn because when I get into a bag I never buy just one. I go overboard. That’s why I’m always buying and selling. It’s definitely an addiction!

The resurgence of the late 90s and Y2K Fendi baguettes is crazy. Fashionphile and Rebag are selling these bags for over a thousand for a 20+ year old bag. Gotta love sustainability! Fortunately all the ones I found were still relatively clean and in good condition. They are quality bags so they last. I highly recommend you getting a tobacco baguette as it’s such a classic bag.

My sister loves LV but doesn’t treat herself so I bought her 3 MM neverfulls and a logo crossbody bag. I really liked the crossbody so I bought myself the same one. Now that’s my only LV since my speedys are gone.
Since you also buy and sell have you ever sold to Fashionphile or Rebag? I used to do well with them but now their quotes have been much lower despite their prices being relatively higher. But sometimes it’s worth it just to not have to deal with annoying buyers. Plus they pay for shipping it to them. It’s amazing that despite how many bags I have I still find another one I must have!! Everyone has their vices!! Could be worse!
I’ll post pics of the mini tomorrow! 😀

I'm so glad your friend loves the tiny! You definitely gave me an idea to look around Ebay - especially Japan - for a tiny Falabella. I can't wait to see it! Wow 3 days from Japan!

I admit I had to look up your Belstaff bag - never heard of it either. There are some incredible deals out there if you know how to authenticate your own bags and I've gotten a few great deals but for the most part I find people tend to overprice their bags. I can't believe you found a mini for $200. My first Falabella 3 chain was second hand in pristine condition. At the time, I didn't know if I would love the bag and wasn't willing to pay full price for it. I think I got it for about half the price of retail.

The Fendi Zucca baguette is exactly the one I want...the classic. I have been to the Fendi boutique to try it on. Love it! I'm not a person against logos. I might try to see what is in the second hand market.

I tried selling through a couple of the big second-hand sites but I find the amount they offer is much lower than what I can get directly. It is obviously harder to sell directly but you can mostly tell who is serious and who isn't.

And what a great sister you are! Your sister is pretty lucky to get such lovely LV gifts.
