My first Falabella was also a black foldover with silver chains! I have many other designer bags from LV, Gucci, Saint Laurent but the Falabella still excites me and is my favorite everyday bag.

The foldover can fold neatly if you orient the bag with the interior pocket facing your body and then fold away (not sure if I was clear). There is only one direction where the fold will be neat.

My daily bag is the Falabella crossbody bag (black with black chains) but I just purchased the mini in the color MIST (I inserted a pic below). I also want the tiny in a more striking color.

I've never had any issues with any of my Falabella bags.

Even thought the pictures don't really show it, the black hardware does shine a lot in certain light conditions so it isn't as "flat" looking as in the pics.

Yes, my crossbody is the shaggy deer material. I don't think the fabric fades or starts to look dull but the material does get softer. When you first buy the bags they have a bit more rigidity to them. I haven't seen a black on black foldover tote (I'm not sure they even make this combination) but I have seen black on black small tote. It's stunning and I would get one for myself after having the crossbody.

The foldover is not messy if you fold it properly. Play with it and you will see there is only one orientation in which the fold is neat. The inside pocket of the bag should be against your body and then flip the top away from you. Maybe this is not very clear but basically there are 2 orientations that it has when folded over and only one looks neat. Also stuffing the bag with some tissue paper or arranging your items properly can give it a better neater shape. I wore the foldover daily for almost a year and it is one of my favorites. You can wear it over the shoulder on the small handles as well.

I recently say a new foldover tote with half silver and half gold chains. Interesting but I'm not certain that I love it. I guess it's for those who can't fully make a decision on hardware color.

I made my purchase from Fashionphile on the black on black along with the navy. Fashionphile sent me pics of the black on black. I hope the black shaggy deer looks better in person. It looks faded! The guy helping me said it is just the lighting and that it is not faded and has a sting ray skin effect to it which I am familiar as my navy has that look as well. My navy was marked excellent while this black on black is marked very good. In the pics it just looks ok but I'm hoping it's just the lighting and in person the black will look nicer and be a deeper black then what most of the pictures show. The one pic with him holding up the bag looks like the black I hoping for! I literally just bought it so hopefully next week it will arrive! I will send you pics of my navy tonight! Thanks for your help! You helped me pull the trigger. The black hardware doesn't have any chipping issues. I have been very rough with my crossbody - it specifically made for the chain to adjust by sliding through the two loops on either side of the bag. Therefore, the chains on my bag have been put to the test with constant scraping of the chains against the metal loops and there are no signs of chipping or scratching.

I looked at the pictures posted in the fashionphile link. Those pics are of an authentic bag. Lucky you if that's the bag you are getting!! Post pics when it arrives. $447 with tax is slightly high but then again you got it from fashionphile and it is black on black - which is not very common.

I look forward to seeing your navy tote!

That’s ironic we both started with the black foldover with silver chains! Granted that was definitely the most popular style bag then. I love your mini in mist. I actually have the Falabella card holder in that color. I have 4 of her card holders that zip on top because I like to carry some cash too. And one long black continental wallet. I prefer the card holders especially for my minis because they don’t take up much space. And another bonus of the Falabellas is you can easily spot clean them. The minis are now my favorites. Because it’s easier to find stuff in them as opposed to a small tote or foldover. I’ll try your trick with folding them over. They can only go 2 ways so I’ll figure it out.
I also have a few Balenciagas, Fendi baguettes (which I recently bought 3 since they made a comeback) a Valentino Rockstud I still love and one LV crossbody and some others. But I prefer hardware so I rarely use the LV. I had 2 speedys but found them hard to get my hands in and out and find stuff and it was the speedy 30s. So many bags, so little time to use them all! I try to switch them up every couple weeks to give them all a turn. But I’m definitely partial to my Falabellas too. I want a hot pink mini but bought it in the small tote. There’s one on eBay I’m tempted to get and then I’ll try to sell the small tote. I’m constantly buying and selling bags! From one bag lover to another!

The zip card holders are the best. I have the black one with the silver hardware. I did have other smaller card holders without the zip top but I prefer the zippered ones. I did have a long wallet in burgundy with silver hardware but sold it along with the matching small tote (definite regret ). Congrats on your 3 new Fendis...I've been eyeing one myself. I actually want a logo one. I never wear my speedy 30...wish it was a 25. The Falabellas are great because I don't have to worry about them and they still dress up an outfit. Of course they don't fit every occasion but for me they are great daily bags that are worry free. Good luck on getting the hot pink mini. Please post it if you do.

Hey Jess. It's late here. I went to dinner with a friend and chit chatted awhile so that's why I'm just getting to the photos of my navy Falabella.

Also I meant to say I paid $447 which INCLUDES the tax, ($447 out the door)
I'm not sure if my statement came across as $447 PLUS tax. Anyway just wanted to state that in case you thought I meant $447 PLUS tax. I did think about waiting til it dropped 5 percent at least however with it being black on black AND it included the dust bag (and in very good condition) I just decided to go for it. It's rare to see black on black. I did a goggle and didn't find a fold over in black on black or even the small tote Falabella in black on black. I would have been happy with either one.

THANK YOU SO MUCH ABOUT THE TIP ON HOW TO FOLD OVER THE BAG! I tried it! It does make a difference on how the bag lays as it lays nicely against the body and you don't have to work so hard making a big effort to straighten the fold and the chains to lay right. The chains are EVERYTHING! It's jewelry for the bag!

I love my navy and gold Falabella! I hope the black is in goregous condition as well. Doesn't the Fashionphile photos that the personal shopper take make the bag look like the black is washed out? Uuugh I hope not. Lol. I'll be disappointed as it will be a waiting game waiting for another black on black to show up.

Well here are my pics of the navy. Let me know what you think. Oh, I pulled the lining of the bag out for you to see the seam. I'm thinking the sewing machine sewed up the lining inside out and left an opening to turn lining the correct way which is why you see the few visible stiches? Is it suppose to be that way? It's the last pic.

I misread the tax issues. Nevertheless, given that it is a black on black and that you got it from Fashionphile (which does guarantee authenticity) it is great. Congrats on getting such a beautiful combination. The black foldover you bought is probably fine. Unless someone really abused it, it should stand up to lots of wear. As you saw from my photos the bag doesn't photograph very well but my bag looks great and not faded in real life. I have worn this crossbody a lot and haven't really cared for it.

I have worn a black foldover bag daily for more than a year and there was no fading. I also have a black small tote that is years old and it still looks great and unfaded. The only thing, as I told you before, is they get a little softer. The black on black is a great find. I don't blame you for going for it!

As you see in the pic above, which you sent, this is not the correct orientation to wear it in. It is messy and the edges don't meet.


This would be the correct fold...the edges meet and the chains fall nicely together.

Thanks for the info on my navy Falabella. It looks amazing to be 8 yrs old! Inside is immaculate too. Wiping with a damp cloth is all that is needed?

Yes after you told me how the Falabella bag should be folded over, I noticed the personal shopper at Fashionphile had it folded the opposite way as the charm disc was not in the front. That picture made me feel I may not like the fold over for the black on black version but now I'm sure I will as I will make sure to fold it over correctly.

Fantastic to know that your black on black still is going strong and the black has not faded on it!
