GREAT info! I wondered about that because I carry a small LV agenda as my wallet, and it's not huge, but it's kinda big for a wallet. Other things I'd want to carry would be a few lippies, my blackberry, keys, and maybe a small bottle of advil. It's a little too much stuff for my LV pochette, but would get lost in the City.

Hello, lovely ladies of Balenciaga forum!:smile1:
This is my first time posting a thread in this sub-forum. What do you know - all of a sudden I've got a craving for Balenciaga!:nuts:
I went through the visuals thread (LOVE all the pics, BTW) and noticed that quite a few of you own both, city and first. I want to know which bag do you like/use more and why. I am torn between the two styles (haven't seen/tried them on IRL) so I would appreciate any info I can get.

I also own both and i tends to use city more often but also depends how much things i put in...but lately i switch to first as i want to carry something light....:)

He he he...I've been waiting for this day, "I"!!!
We will go Balenciaga shopping at Holt's and I'll show you all the sizes.
About the "ears" on the City- I just tuck them in for a nice clean look. If you are used to using your JPG bag and from what I remember it was pretty stuffed, you might want to consider a City or even a Work.
First is great for weekends, errands, etc. I love the City for daytime but have now upsized to Work for, well, work:yes:

Thank you, ladies, for your replies! So far, I see many of you favor the city. (I had a feeling that this was going to be the case - the size just seems perfect!) I've been missing something green from my bag collection so I was hoping to locate either a city or a first in apple green (I LOVE my colors and AG just pops!).
Anyhow, wish me luck in my search and I will keep you posted.:smile1:

i really don't think you can go wrong with either size. i would say most of the girls here have both sizes and loves them equally. apple green is a great choice! i love the 05 leather. good luck!

BTW, there is an apple green first on ebay at the moment.

I have both, but as I'm getting ready for a 3 week road trip, I am back to my First. It holds the essentials, and while traveling, all that extra stuff will go into my trusty Day. I will take a City bag with me, but I'll use the First as my primary bag while travelling.

What I found is that, since I carry a workbag (not yet Balenciaga, :shrugs:), the First is perfect for all the other things I do in a day. Run to the bank, go to the grocery store, etc. I like that it's small enough that I can keep it on my shoulder in the grocery store and am not tempted to put it in the cart. When I carry the First or the Day, I tend to put more stuff in it.

However, there are times when I do want my contact lens case, my sunglasses case, extra meds, etc., in my purse that I'm actually carrying (like when I go shopping for a few hours or out for the day to museums and stuff) - and then, the City is much better.

For our trip, I'll probably keep important documents, credit cards, etc. in my City, along with spare glasses, traveller's checks, evening makeup, etc. I'll be able to grab her for hotel check-ins or going into nice restaurants (where I'll have hairspray in my City, and will be able to transform myself into a Stunning Beauty in just 5 minutes...:amuse:), but for walking about at all the various historical stops and geysers and waterfalls, it'll be my First.

In my First, I carry: wallet, coinpurse (as makeup bag), cellie, digital camera, notebook, pen and earplugs (in a pouch). I can put my sunglasses in there, but not in their regular case - no room. I have a couple of nylon pouches I can use instead.

It sure is cute.

I like the first and the city equally, but for different reasons. The city is a more practical size, but in my opinion the first looks better. If only they would make the first just a little bigger...and w/ a longer shoulder strap.

I own both and love both. The city is perfect for during the day and the first is great for going out in the evenings.

I have a first in the Apple Green color, it's a fantastic color!

Hi Irene. I've been a fan of your collection and I'm soooo happy that you're considering adding Balenciaga to your FABULOUS collection! :nuts:I too, think the City is a perfect size for you. If you like green, consider the Vert Gazon (grass green) color as well, especially in the GH. I think this green is awesome and a great popping color with any outfit.
