I was wondering what others usually pay to have red soles (Vibram) put on your shoes? My cobbler does impeccable work, true craftmanship, but charges $45 dollars a pair. I bit the bullet and dropped off two pairs today. The total for cleaning, soles, shine on my patent pair and cleaning and sealant-protecting my suede pairs was $131. Is this reasonable? TIA!

$30 in Chicago for the Vibrams, and this is at a very professional place. Maybe even less in smaller operations.

I just got my repair back from Santana Creative. I highly recommend them! They did a great job resoling and replacing the heel taps, and the customer service and turnaround time was outstanding.

Here's the price breakdown:
$12 - heel taps
$30 - red sole guards
$15 - leather tip (the pointed toe part of the sole was so worn down they had to add a leather tip)
$10 UPS shipping
___________
$67 - total

Hi guys - for those in London:
I go to Michael at Classic Shoe Repairs, 23-25 Brecknock Road, Islington, London N7 0BL Tel +44 20 7485 5275.
He and his team are brilliant and can do everything from heel re-covering and reconditioning to stretching etc.
This is the cobbler that CL in the UK uses (as recommended to me by the Mount Street boutique) along with Matches Fashion etc. for any CL repairs that are needed.
They are the BEST!!

Hi ladies! I just recently gave my shoes in to a cobbler in Arlington VA called "Best foot forward". They showed me some of their work and it looked quite good. I'm just a little concerned now because they had a vibram sole but the red was so dark I opted for a different brand sole that was a brighter red. The lady assured me that she had never had any complaints with that sole but i just want to know if anyone else has used another brand for resoling and how that worked out! Thanks

Took my very worn down Very Croise into Pasquale's in LA and got them back in a week. They added rubber soles and shined the leather. Came out to $40. Here's some before and after pics.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing. I normally send mine to Santana Creative in Raleigh but Pasquale's is a lot closer to where I am (Seattle). I will have to give Pasquale's a try.

I have a broken heel on my red glitter Clichy that needs to be replaced. I sent them to the Leather Spa, and they 'fixed' the heel, but they broke again straight after (in the same spot). I think the heel needs to be replaced entirely. Where's the best place to send them? Will CL HQ be able to help?
