Who do you think I should speak to at CL...? Sorry ladies, thanks for your advice. I can barely think. I feel so paralyzed - there is no way I can get another pair, and I doubt they can be fixed! I bought these at CL Madison in January and they were Perfect.

You should attempt to obtain compensation from the owner of the cobbler shop before going to CL. This way when you go to CL, you explain that you brought it to the cobblers attention and they refused any compensation. They don't want bad publicity if this is just an honest mistake.

I actually began pursuing it with Leather Spa. They would not compensate (hello, these are 1295 retail and not available anymore KWIM?), only fix it - but for my own trust reasons (hey I'm just a  crazy shoe lady ok?), have decided that instead of having Leather Spa fix it, I'm going to send the pair to MM7 in Paris and have them do it, on my own coin. They have to rip off and re-cover the heel, and just not feeling especially trusting about them now. I know that this is the recommended Louboutin cobbler, and this isn't easy for me as now I've got to find someone else to work on my CLs in general in NYC...

^^ I can fully understand why you don't want to use Leather Spa, chloe and I would do exactly as you are doing. So sorry, though, that you are having to take this action, but they are very precious shoes and I can see why you don't want to risk anything further with them. Would love to see them, when they are back from MM7. Best wishes with your repair.

:hugs:lizziecat. Although some can say they are just shoes, we on tPF know what it means to say the Black Nappa on the MBBs is unlike any other pair, and really, I can't even bear to look that them right now. They came back so bruised . I don't see how it could be an honest mistake. :nono: take one shoe made of fine lambskin, clamp without padding and smash the leather, repeat for second shoe.

It pains me just to see others wearing theirs...

I'm just waiting for MM7 to get back to me so I can send them. I'll report. I have the highest confidence that if anyone can do it right, MM7 can.

Sorry, that is unacceptable on their part. I agree, its hard to trust them now. it makes it more difficult that you can't walk into a store and purchase a new pair. Hopefully the repair is successful.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this and after reading your comments I don't know if I want to, but I found these shoes on ebay that have some places on the heel and I was wondering if you all thought the leather spa (or anywhere really) could fix them? I can't seem to copy just the picture of the heel but here is the link

Thanks for any advice you ladies may have... I'm waiting to send my first pair to get vibramed so I thought if I got these I could send them together

Do you have pictures of them so I can see what they look like? You don't recommend Shoe's Hospital? I walk told they don't do a good job...so I'm still searching. Have you tried My Shoes Saver?

Hi! I wondered if you ever got the soles done? Whom did you use? I'm curious because I had been thinking of using Shoe Saver...

Thanks Princess! Have you done it? Liked the results? I'm going to take another look back in this thread to try to find some pics. It's been a while..

Hi Kayti,

Attached is a picture of my most recent CLs that were soled at Pasquale's for your reference. Hope it helps.

I've been to 2 cobblers in Yorkville in Toronto. I've been taking all my CLs to Shoe Therapy on Bay Street to get Vibrams put on but the price has slowly risen from $20 a pair 2 years ago to now $30 a pair. He does a decent job and has never ruined a single pair of my shoes.

I recently went to Kaner's to get ball of foot pads put under the insoles of a couple of my too-large for me pairs. They do a decent job of this - I've had 3 pairs done now. Today I asked the guy if I could look at an example of their Vibram/Topy work. I must say they do a very fine job (better than my other cobbler based on the example I saw) but they charge $35 per pair. I think I'll take a couple to him and see how he does.

When I take them there and get them back, I'll post comparison pics.

For those in Melbourne, try:

Evan's Leather
Block Arcade, Elizabeth St
(However Google search shows a website for Evan's Leather in the Royal Arcade, not sure if this is the same guy and he moved? The site mention CLs and red soles.)

When I bought my Very Prives they'd already been "vibrammed" by the seller and she had them done there. I think the job is even better than the one Alex just did for me in Sydney. They are the older, more orange soles, but the workmanship is spot on. The black paint on the sides has worn off a bit now with wear etc.
