Hello Ladies,

I just received my new pair of Louboutins and imagine my disappointment when I noticed they were damaged. I’m in Colorado and the closest cobbler on the list is about 90 miles away.

I wanted to get some opinions about weather I should get the shoe repaired or send them back to the seller. Has anyone else seen issues like this and if so how did it turn out?

Thanks in advance

meghan, I will PM you. :flowers:

For those of you Georgia girls who are in search of a good cobbler who does nice work, there's a small shoe repair shop in Conyers, GA, called "The Wooden Shoe." He doesn't do anything complicated, but he's great if all you need are heel tips and Vibrams.

I have a pair there right now for vibrams (I brought my own, as he does not carry the red ones) and another pair for new heel tips. He did a very nice job on the heel tips of my Inverness booties (a pair I tested him with).

Just down the street from Footcandy in Walnut Creek. If you have your shoes serviced through FC, that's where they send them. My CL shoe twin from work has had two sets of vibrams put on by this shop, and is happy with both. She currently has a pair in the shop for stretching of the toe box. Will let you know how it turns out!

OMG, I found an amazing cobbler in Orange County. He's based in Irvine at a little teeny tiny place called Culver Shoe Repair.

I recently had to get a pair of Giambattista Valli shoes stretched the day of my sister's wedding. I figured I could get drop them off at the same time as 2 pairs of CLs that needed to be resoled and went to Culver Shoe Repair on a very strong recommendation from a girlfriend. I brought in a pair of CL sailor-looking shoes and some turban flats that were trashed needed to be resoled and had some of the patent scratched up.

I knew I needed the Valli's stretched which was no biggie aside from the fact the material was STIFF and I was afraid it wouldn't have much "give". Even though he came highly reccomended, I was a little hesitant to drop off my other "babies" imagining the horrible things that could happen if they were resoled incorrectly.

We originally agreed on a time for the Valli's and 4 days later for the other two pairs. When I arrived 3 hours later to pick up the Valli's I was pleasantly surprised to see they were done AND my sailor CLs were done PERFECTLY.

Not only did they look great, he delivered them super quick! It was $8 for the stretching and $25 for the red rubber sole- but TOTALLY worth it when you consider how great they looked and how quickly it was done.

I was so giddy I just had to share with everyone, I totally found a new cobbler!

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but in San Francisco:

Tip & Top Shoe Repair is very, very good.
They are located in the West Portal neighborhood. It's a cheap-looking shop that sells vacuum cleaners, too, but the work is excellent. The Chinese-looking guy is a master. I haven't had any CL's done yet, so I don't know if he has red soles, but he has all kinds of soles, including Italian ones like Topy which seem much better than Vibrams. He's done my Lanvin flats brilliantly. He always does the work on time (within a week) which is half the value.

i just want to understand the process a little more...should you wear out the soles before getting the rubber soles? and when the cobbler puts them on, he scrapes the red paint off first (so might as well wear it out)?
