Bunnycat, your new additions are AMAZING! I’m especially loving the the colors in the last one. And the zebra is so cute! Adding it to my wishlist, stat!
I’ve also been bad. Like really bad. Like I-bought-five-scarves-in-as-many-weeks bad. It does make me a bit happier these days but I’m finding that it’s not enough. I’m ravenous for scarves and am not even savoring each one as it comes in, I’m just on to the next. I suspect that’s the grief. I’m forcing myself to slow down.
But I digress. One of my recent purchases was a moussie, Sulfures, which has been on my wishlist since I saw Lanit’s cobalt in this very thread maybe five years ago. I’m still searching for her cw but this’ll tide me over quite nicely.
It’s funny, when I first got it, it wasn’t love at first sight. I love green but it really has to be in the right shades for me to wear. The border on this is a sage green and there was more yellow than I was comfortable with in it. Plus, I think my current fuchsia hair doesn’t go as well with the colors in this scarf. But it won’t be fuchsia forever (maybe coral next!). The other thing that threw me off was the texture of the silk. I’m so used to the fine, soft wispiness of today’s mousseline than feeling the thickness of this one felt to me, well... a little like ... rayon. (Gasp!) I got over that feeling fast, though, when I realized how helpful the thicker fabric is when wearing it - the thing is springier than today’s moussie fabric, which makes it stay put a little better when wearing.
One more note: the seller was so very kind. If you are reading this, thank you so much again.

Thank you Joannadyne! Oh yes! I know the lure so well with these kinds of colors on Sulfures. They make an intriguing moussie and are hard to tame. My pale Karnak was a little like that but now I couldn’t do without it. I love it with the green tee! That’s what is so odd with these kind is you think you have to go opposite and sometimes you actually need to go pale or neutral to make them ethereal. How is it with cream or pale pink or pale yellow? We can have a comparison shoot. I’ll pull out some Karnak pics. White actually ended up as it’s worst combination and I thought that was going to be good but no. Grey, black and skin tone and oatmeal neutrals are what it wants.
So glad you are keeping that MP stole as the colors are fabulous on you.
Lol- I have made myself make that stole work...but decided in the end I need a lot less effort than a stole requires of me so limiting the numbers seem best!

Speaking of green moussies, won this one on eBay, loved the metallic look of Les Clefs’s matte blanc work but it’s a challenge to show off.
Coincidentally, a bonus scarf ring from Jan Goode matched so I tried to channel @Living.la.vida.fifi, etc. Don’t think @papertiger will be asking for head-tying tips, but my flapper grannie (R.I.P.) might get a laugh.

Ooh- that is also an ethereal challenge. That color (Tilleul was it ?? and I know the spelling is botched) is so glowy I like it with your hair! Try it bias folded and with the tails down the back. I think you might like that casual vibe. You may have to try a few different shirt colors til you find a comfort fit with it. Have you tried working with the golden caramel colors in it yet?
Last week I was in a very popular vacation spot and went to H to look at their 140 mousselines. Guess what: they don‘t carry them. At all! Very disappointing![]()
Yes- they stopped producing the designed ones this past spring. Just the losenges and the BdG Quadri GM though that one is very pretty in its own way. People say airport H’s are a good place to try if you get a chance and online still has some.
I love you more for the Peter Murphy shirt.![]()

If I am honest, haven’t worn it much. I love the design motif- displays actual paperweights in the collection of “mr paperweight” - originally designed for the paperweight club. When I acquired it I did more research, but that info is on my laptop.
Between the color, and the weight, I have not thought of it as a summer scarf, and have worn it in California mild weather months like November or April. Checking for archive pix, I always seem to wear it with my deep burgundy cardigan... here are a few pix.

The burgundy is a surprise cool thing to pick up on! It really brings out the millefiori canes.
Like both you and @Joannadyne I am used to the more thin and slippery newer variety of chiffon more than the older crepe like ones and do tend to save those for cooler weather. Now that you’ve mentioned it, some of the “rehomes” have been mainly older ones since the crepe weight works better when it is cool for me but but they were “summer” patterns that I wouldn’t have worn for cool weather. (Also why most of them have to look good with black, grey or dark items since I do use them year round.)
