Would have loved to take pics outside but it is, unfortunately, too stormy here presently...

Oh my- that one is pure magic! (Well, they both are really). The blue is changeant as well? Congrats on it! I know it will look superb on you!

Oooh- I would love to see a pic of the page if you have a 2005 booklet orchard!

Thank you so much BBC!

Thank you Sickgrl! Yes! I've seen this also called Toile de Hermes (Toile H for short) and Toile de Jouy, but when I look up Toile de Jouy sometimes that name is attached to pics of actual lace of the design and occasionally of other imagery in cottons. So I'm coming to the conclusion that a Toile de Jouy may be an umbrella term for fabric with sketch imagery like this. Maybe @orchard will show us a pic of the page from 2005 and help us out!

Thank you FlaTiger! There are a few pics of one early in this thread (around page 7-10 or so). It also came in a regular smooth mousseline as a changeant....yessss....reallly....... And I recently saw a fringed version of it on the bay in hot pink and also turquoise.

I scrolled back to the beginning of this thread and I am just in awe of some of those moussies and am saddened by how much has changed since then: only available during Spring, limited designs, few if any changeants, and now bandana moussies? Very dismaying.

I hear ya! :crybaby: I've been through this thread start to finish to admire the wonders several times.

Your Toile Hermes is beautiful, what a find  Seems like yesterday I was admiring the piece in the Milan boutique, happy times. I came away with a yellow Sarasvati.

Oh- Sarasvati is a real gem as well! Thank you so much orchard!

Thank you so much, dear bunnycat! :hbeat: Yes, the blue is also changeant... And amaaazing, but IRL the pink one outshines it IMO...

Yeah- they seem to be on a changeant break right now....maybe one day they'll come back!

I can see how the pink one really wants to take center stage. That one is a traffic stopper. The changeant contrast is awesome. the blue one probably has a softer changeant, like blue/green??? My Quadrige is like that. Soft grey green to lavender which is not a high contrast changeant like La Rosee's pink to steel blue.

Ok- I've been trying to find some time to post this one after all the craziness of the scarfmania the past week. This came in just before we went out of town and just after I gave up finding another shawl I'd been hunting.

I had a mousseline plisse for a while, and while I liked the texture of it, I haven't really been able to make the plisse format work for me, so I let it go. But then I saw this shawl in a crinkle crepe mousseline and thought that if it worked out, then it might be amazing to have a similar texture to plisse, but bigger format and that would be a very cool thing and very nearly as special as La Rosee in its own right.

So I am very pleased that I was right! And without further ado let me present my NTM Toile Hermes in Rouge H (to go with my Bolide, of course!) which I think was designed by Sophie de Seynes.

The crinkle crepe is very light, does not slip around like regular mousseline and is very "fluffy". So if this is what un ironed mousseline does, well, it's not so bad! (This is one mousse I would never even hope to wash because I'd never be able to be sure the fabric would wrinkle back the way it is supposed to be.)
