Presenting color 6: the gris/marine/chartreuse coloration of PdV. I asked a friend to pick it up for me from the store and, therefore, didn't see the actual color before the purchase.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

I was dazzled by the first color I bought (color 11), but now that I see that the grey backgrounds are so similar, I am somewhat deflated.

I was expecting a lot more chartreuse. I'm not sure if it is worth keeping both.

Which one would you keep?

There's something really magical about cw11. It's not that cw06 isn't pretty, but for what it's worth, in my eyes, it pales when compared side by side to cw11 because it's much more neutral and soft.
Go with your  scarfmischief

I have 11 and, like u, love it. I also have the chartreuse guepards and LOVE it! I think if you want the pop of chartreuse , keep 11 and get guepards! You can't go wrong! :)

Fellow moussies, I had been doing such a good job of keeping myself from peeking into this thread, having realized I went a liiiiiiiiittle bit crazy with mousse-buying after I first got hooked on them. Mousselines often don't show to advantage in H pics or even reseller pics, so staying away from the shots in this thread help ease temptation. Out of sight, out of mind, right?

But unfortunately, memories of pretty mousselines are hard to shake, and I have an especially strong memory of blue and green things from Pierina's closet... so when I saw these come up, I immediately thought of her modeling shots and had to have them! That's Naissance d'un Idee on the left and La Treve de l'Eau on the right.

So I'm here to confess my sins, and now that I'm here, of course I've seen the gorgeous blue and copper Peuple du Vent, the olive and fuschia colorways of Guepards... oh dear. :sweatdrop:

Congratulations! 2 beautiful additions! I bet they look stunning on u!:D

Thanks to everyone who answered.

I decided to return the second grey/chartreuse mouss. and just keep the rockstar!

I strongly recommend the grey/purple version to all!

scarfmischief, have you tried the Guepards yet? It definitely has that great chartreuse color you're looking for. I just got it myself and it's so beautiful. I'm not a cat lover at all but I'm so smitten with it!

Dear moussie experts, I need your help! I LOVE scarves, but had never bought a mousseline scarf (nor really any H scarf, I wear Drakes and Etro and Rag & Bone) until I picked up a 140 cm I Like Flowers shawl in Vert Amande a few months ago. Now it is my favorite scarf, such a cloud of chiffon, so light and airy. I am in love :cloud9:
I bought a second 90 cm from a trusted reseller recently. It's an older design, Flora Graeca, and it's mint in box with the 2003 ribbon. It's pretty but it is a totally different feel - still chiffon I guess but much stiffer and less floaty.

Did mousselines change? Are the 90 cm different? I want more :p but I want to ensure they are the same feel as my big I Like Flowers. Thank you! :ty:

HI! They have definitely changed, also, the changeants are definitely more 'fluid' than some that I have that are non changeants!! Welcome to this club...these are so enticing:)

From what I have experienced, cashmere GMs, twills, mousselines - all have different feels depending on batches, colorways, amount of starch in the finish, and designs. No worries.
Among the mousselines I have, the softest and thinnest is the Chasse en Inde stole (feels like cotton candies,), and then changeante (changing color) mousselines, to non-changeante/regular mousselines (like your I Like Flower, I suppose), and the stiffest and are my new Jardin d'Amernie mousseline stoles (almost tulle-like initially, but softened afterwards).
There are ways to change the mousseline feel: you can either wear it often, or send it to dry-clean, wash it and air-dry (will change dramatically into crepe-like texture but may also shrink the hems), or wash and then iron in low heat immediately without air-drying (for softer texture, but unintentional high temperature of some iron models will burn the mousse...).
If you have never washed H scarves, don't attempt with your mousselines otherwise you may risk ruining it.

Above is my opinion, others' opinion may differ.

Oh Chestnutty! I am so pleased u mentioned a bit about washing moussies here!:smile1: As u are probably aware, I have >a dozen moussies & most have never been worn because I don't know how to wash them! For those that have been worn, they have been put aside as I am horrified to touch them knowing they had been on my sweaty skin throughout the sub-tropical summer. Could u give me some advice as to handwashing them? I will NEVER dry-clean them, knowing accidents DO happen, even with the best professionals. TIA!:smile1:

D Lee - Much as I would love to share, I'm nervous at the possibilities that the hand-washing witchcraft that I share may ruin your mousselines that cost a lot of money. To be safe, you should inquire your boutique about a recommended dry-cleaner in town and go that direction.

Thx for your response, Chestnutty! But have u ever ruined a moussie by handwashing it? I don't think I could bear to risk dry-cleaning any of my moussies. Maybe I could wash one of them & see how it turns out!:p

Argh, my message disappeared!

I have washed my mousseline PM with a detergent for delicates (silk/wool), well dissolved in cold water. After rising, I put it on a clean towel and rolled it to dry, and finally hanged it over the bar of my shower curtain. I didn't dare iron it. It looks great even though it's a bit wrinckled. However you can't tell when it's worn.

Just wanted to chime in here about cleaning. I'm not a moussie expert by any means (I own all of two) but last summer, I dropped an olive while at dinner and watched in horror as bounced down my Le Monde est Vaste moussie, leaving a trail of olive oil. It's been drilled in to me by my SA not to clean these things on my own, so I brought the mousse in to H to be professionally cleaned by whoever they use. When it came back, the texture was significantly different -- much stiffer. I'm so disappointed. If I had known that was going to happen, I would have tried spot-cleaning it myself.

QF, when I read your post, I immediately wondered if your second mousse had ever been dry cleaned. Or maybe the difference is just because different vintages have different textures, I don't know. But I wanted to put that out there.
