D Lee, I have missed you my cat-loving friend. I too am in need of a red moussie and thought this would be the one. But I DO love the Africa mousse as well. Have you seen that one? My dear, your collection is getting to significant to buy something that does not scream like a siren for you! Walk away if you don't hear anything. There is always the next season and it's nice to slow down a bit...maybe....:hugs:
Dear Lisa,
Thx for your advice! I love the African pattern so much that I bought 3 90s & 2 140 moussies. Then when I saw the red African, I kicked mself for having bought so many Africans beforehand. This moussie is a rare red where the pattern is relatively visible! I mean, u pay SO MUCH for a H mousseline! U want the best material, workmanship & pattern. But I'd feel guilty if I had bought my 3rd African moussie in as many months!

Go get this red African. I did my research AFTER I got my red PdV. Very few, if any, red moussies have a relatively visible pattern.U wouldn't regret it if u'd like a red moussie!

The sky's been overcast these 2 days. I will see if I can at least discern some of the patterns of this PdV on a sunny day. If so, I will keep this moussie.

My cats have a sorry history. The entire litter of 3 were picked up off the street in 2005. 2 were rehomed but the new owner went home to the US in 2011 & left the then 6-yr old cats. I had no choice but took them back in. Now the 2 sisters, unaware of their relationship, fight & hiss at each other day & night!

Dear D Lee, I think this is gorgeous, so subtle and elegant! Magical how the various colorways can evoke such different moods. If this one makes your heart sing, then maybe there is room in your closet for this subtle one, and perhaps a more vibrant red mousse in the future?
Thx etiole for your advice! I think my heart will sing if I can at least discern some of the PdV patterns on a sunny day. I'd keep it for sure. I am now wondering when the sun would come out!

Hope I am not too late chiming in here, DLee- I think this GM is just beautiful, but I agree that the pattern doesn't show up well. I usually like my mousselines to have a more visible pattern, but there is something nice about having a more quiet pattern. One appreciates the colors, perhaps a bit more even, and at least for me, sometimes I probably should tone down the colors!! Mousselines are getting more and more difficult to find - at least at my boutique - so I'd be tempted to get this one and you can complete your "set" of 12. Then if you later spot one that makes your heart sing, you can grab it as a supplement!!
Thx Luvbolide! I really love colors! That's why I love ALL your beautiful clic-clacs posted in the clic-clac thread. But then I love loud colors. I also love the PdV pattern. So I thought the red PdV would be a combination made in heaven! It should be, until I saw hopiko's cw11. It is so stunning!

Maybe I should have BOTH PdVs & then leave for ban island. Really want both!:D:D

D lee, I think you hit the nail on the head there! The red pdv for "A" red moussie AND also to pair with any patterned tops... And the purple pdv for your definitive design/colors. :). And them off to ban island :)

Thx for your suggestion, MYH! Would everybody pls look at my mod pics of the Peuple du Vent moussie, one taken under adequate lighting & the other not & give me an honest assessment? I really feel unhappy having to decide keeping or returning it. I became restless after viewing hopiko's beautiful cw11.

My policy before is to buy both when decision couldn't be made. But now that I have >50 scarves, this bad habit has got to stop. TIA!

I think it looks gorgeous on you D Lee,

I had a similar dilemma with a non-mouss and ended up buying the dipdye and a very close cw that let the design show more. I'm very happy I have both now.

I expect H make more subtle cws so that when customers wear clothes/outfits that have lots going on already there are scarves that are suitable. It is a handy thing to have a couple of scarves that are a little more subtle

Thx papertiger! Such wisdom! Yes, all my scarves are loud & colorful. And getting sth subtle to go with patterned clothes would be a good idea! This red with a not-too-visible pattern really fits the bill. I'll consider for a couple of days more & will most likely keep it. Ï can't go wrong with one subtle scarf among 50+ loud scarves! Thx again!:smile1:

Dear jp,
This idea suits me to a T! But I still want to get a couple of scarves more. Then I swear on my ancestors' graves that I would leave for ban island.:smile1:

Silkies - I got my first moussie today. I have been waiting and waiting for one to take my breath away and it happened today. Here she is...PdV.

Scream! It reminds me of something like light stone Italian pietra dura, I am very jealous and spent the money elsewhere so NOooo chance this side of the price hike even if I could find one

MYH, congratulations to you, so lovely to see it on

MYH, this is gorgeous! The wait was worth it! :woohoo: You tempt me....:graucho:

I'm so happy that you guys agree this one is the one for me! And papertiger - to be honest, I did have the price hike in mind. I'm kind of in a "buy everything I can get my hands on mode". My SA said prices were going up 6%. I'm not sure how reliable a source she is, but that's what she said. :wtf:
