all being said, its really not that big a difference where you buy, whether in paris, london or milan. it will definitely be cheaper than HK, USA or wherever you are.;)

Thanks for the info, its definitely cheaper than purchasing the items in Singapore! The price here is horrendously HIGH! I am eyeing Trevi PM and could save about S$550 if buy in France!

I just took out a reciept for my purchase of a LV wallet from Greece last year by a friend, it showed that she claimed 23% so I thought perhaps I could claim at least 15-17% of VAT in France (after admin charge) till I read your post :shucks:

hmmm. i think i better ask a friend now touring eastern europe to check out price of LV. the tax refund of the ff countries are 25% = Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Norway, Sweden while france and italy are around 20%. this is the actual refund not counting the processing fees etc. using that line of reasoning, then these 5 countries will have a 5% more tax refund. but problem is we don't know what is the selling price of LV in these countries. your purchase/refund in Greece of 23% is awesome, but did you check if its the same price in Greece and in France/Italy?

She didn't go Paris, only visited Greece. However I remembered I checked the price of the item I wanted from the LV-France website, the price differential was btw €20-30 only. Nevertheless its still cheaper than buying in my homeland!

Recently there was a price increase for Chanel and Dior bags, I computed my sums...the funny thing is that it is still cheaper to buy in France (after the price increment) as the price there is lower than the price in my homeland before the increment!!!

maybe thats why i heard from some friends who went to hungary, that there are a lot of asians buying up lots of LV because of the bigger tax refund, ergo lower prices than paris.
next year, will plan my trip there.:giggles::giggles:

I'm going to Portugal next week and stopping at the LV store in Lisbon to purchase my Speedy B...unfortunately I can't locate the euro price, just form what I see in Spain/France is around 700-720 euros. Does anyone have any experience with purchasing from the Lisbon store? Or returning to the US and retrieving VAT back? What's the percentage like? Thanks.

I bought an LV from the Lisbon store once, it's about 25-30 Euros more than the price on France website. The service was okay (not very impressive, perhaps that one SA wasn't friendly). If I remember correctly I got about 10% back. My last EU port on that trip was Frankfurt, so that's where I did my tax refund. The process was relatively easy (except that I spent forever looking for the customs office for the stamp!). You can ask them to refund you in Euros if you don't want to change into USD right away (especially now when USD is so weak). Oh, I would also recommend cashing it right away (for a small fee) rather than sending it in by post and waiting hopelessly for the refund to show up.

I just came back from Milan and Paris. I 've found that the price in Paris is a bit cheaper than in Milan.... around 30 Euro difference for a male messenger bag.

France is a little cheapter than other countries; however, it's before VAT refund. I'm trying to figure out what VAT refund % are for each of the countries. That is what makes the big price differen e.

Hi i'm also considering a lv epi speedy in purple & will be going paris/rome/florence next mar or april. Anyone knows where is the cheapest to buy in either paris or italy?

I heard there arent any LV stores in airports? So I probably have to claim VAT. Which country/city/store to buy LV the cheapest post-VAT refund?

I'm also looking to buy a Mulberry Lily in Oak. Assistance in this brand is also much appreciated.

Many thanks.
