i forgot 2 mention, i bought my last 2 lv bags from Riyadh, KSA. with exchange rate, it was much cheaper compare to M'sia & Singapore. I managed to exhange my 'neverfull' in M'sia as my friend didn't like it. the SA in Riyadh & M'sia were very friendly & helpful compare to snobbish Singapore SA! My friend spent nearly 2 hrs deciding on her bag & the SA in M'sia lv boutique accomodated to her whim & wishes. I was in short pant & sandal by the way as the weather was extremely humid.

I went to Paris in May 2010. I bought a Galliera - $1280 USD (before tax) - I paid $840 Euros (including tax).

The Euro was doing poorly due to the Greek financial scare so 840 euros was $1,058 USD PLUS I got almost $200 USD VAT back. All-in-all, I paid a little over $800 USD for my Galliera.

P.S. the sales staff was extremely friendly in Paris LV (on the Champs Elysees)

jinxedbaglady, what a great deal! I was worried the sales people at the Champs Elysees store would be the snobbiest considering the famous street but now hopefully I can convince my parents to go to that one with me :D

Hermione,

I was a intimidated about going into the store as well. I admit I was a bit put off that there was a line to get into the store. It did go quickly. I'm assuming it is for traffic control to make sure they can keep an eye on everyone and make sure the SAs can take their time with customers. As soon as I walked into the store a young SA approached me and spoke in English. I speak French but not fluently. She grabbed all the bags I wanted. As I tried on each - she explained what line they were from, when they were made, what features they had, etc. She treated me like no one else was in the store. We were interrupted twice by random shoppers asking questions. She politely told them she would find someone to help them, that she was busy.

I was very impressed with the store. Have fun! You'll be amazed at their display of bags......pure heaven!

I have been to singapore recently and it was pretty reasonable there. the exchange rate also helps things too.

I agreed the lv price is reasonable but I'd the worst experience shopping there. The SAs were very snobbish! Judging customers by their appearances only. Rich looking 'tai tai' & foreigners caught their attention 1st.

I just bought 2 bags from singapore... most of their bags are made in france... luckily my SA was so kind to me since it only took 10 mins to decide buying the 2 bags... lv singapore is way cheaper than the US...

I live in Singapore and prices here are not cheaper than in the USA, The US$ went down but even with the price increase in the USA some bags are still cheaper there than in Singapore or about the same price.

Im being educated because I always thought that LV prices were consistent no matter where you shopped (with minor variances for frequent changes in international rates). I know I shop LV when I travel international and the prices always seem to be relative to what Id pay in US dollars. Interesting.....

France is always cheaper but it depends on the exchange rate of how much can you save...
For my personal experience, It was 25% to 30 % cheaper than US when 1 euro to 1.32 US and with the tax return
