My bf was in sweden's stockholm LV outlet, they quoted 5400 EUR for speedy 30 and they mentioned that the amount is after tax. I did a currency exchange calculation, its the same price as in other asian countries. So i dun see it cheaper at all.

Hi - Sorry but LV does not have Any Outlets. Ladies and Gentlemen, LV does not EVER go on sale, it is NEVER discounted and there are NO outlets.

For the past 7 years I've been making a pilgrimage to Paris because LV IS 30% cheaper than the US when you consider the conversion rate and the VAT return. However, this year, LV announced it was doing World Wide Price Leveling and sure enough when I got to Paris, it was going to be the same price as buying it here in the US. So, I don't know if any country is cheaper anymore.

If LV in Australia could bring the prices up to par with the US prices I would be in heaven cause' the prices are absolutely ridiculous over here, which makes me buy alot of my LV from a few sellers I can trust off ebay. This would mean I would be paying my LV alot more visits in the year.

Definitely not Korea!! Although the taxes are built into the price of the item, I always end up paying about $200-$300 more here than I would in the States. But then again all luxury goods are more expensive here because of the rate of fakes being produced, have to keep the luxury... a luxury!!

Really? That is just

When would the World Wide Price Leveling starts? I am from the Philippines but currently residing in Qatar and it's definitely cheaper to buy LV here than in the Philippines. Or, may be because there is no tax here? :thinkin:

Quite happy about that ... makes it less annoying when traveling. I like to pick up new pieces when in different cities; kind of gives all my pieces a little story to go with them. There are a few times that I've left items there because the price difference was ridiculous, so if they do this, then the only thing to worry about is taxes making the final price more or less.

Just bought the Neverfull MM in Damier Azur in Panama City, on the only LV store in the country, and, it was US$660,00 + taxes (7%) that ended up costing US$706,20!!

Don't know if it is cheaper in France though...

Has this already taken place? Because when I checked the french LV website and did the conversion the prices still seem to be cheaper. Then again, I only checked on the speedy 30.

With the VAT refund, it is still cheaper to buy in France.

For example, the damier speedy 30 is currently €475 (~ $652). The vat is already included in the price... so after the refund, you're still paying well under the retail price of the same bag in the US.

i was a lv fan before and bought mostly from singapore. price reasonable there but the staff was very snobbish & ignored me on my last trip b'cos i was dressed very casually or me being an asian? the moment i whipped out my platinum card, i ws treated like royalty! that was my 3rd trips there and probably my last too.
i had 4 lv, bought speedy 30 & totally mm last yr. both given away to my lucky sis i law. now sticking to balenciaga day for its softness & colour and less fake copies around esp in asia!!!!:yahoo:

I went to Paris in May 2010. I bought a Galliera - $1280 USD (before tax) - I paid $840 Euros (including tax).

The Euro was doing poorly due to the Greek financial scare so 840 euros was $1,058 USD PLUS I got almost $200 USD VAT back. All-in-all, I paid a little over $800 USD for my Galliera.

P.S. the sales staff was extremely friendly in Paris LV (on the Champs Elysees)
