What a shame- otherwise that bag was cared for very well.
Heaven forbid they photograph it a bit better- they're asking someone to pay $1000 for something that they can't even return (unless they pay for a "return guarantee"). And we don't even know what kind of stain that is- something that left the inside sticky, like soda? or something smelly like perfume?

Agree, the bag is stunning. Might be mineral oil and unremovable. Surely they'd already tried a bag spa of sorts, judging by how the rest of the bag is kept. If it were even half the price, I'd get it and try to restore it.

I CANNOT believe the freaking prices on pre-loved Bals, especially the more collectable ones. It's insane.

Word! It makes me angry and sad at the same . I'm so close to turning my back on all things Bal. Hunting stopped being fun about a year ago and it's not going to change anytime soon (or ever).
The great deals are way too few and far inbetween now. I guess that's the main reason I'm drawn to other brands...

I'm giving contemporary a shot right now. I'll never turn my back on Bal but not at these prices.

I’m willing to bet within a year resale prices will come crashing down & vintage Balenciaga will be back around other vintage designers from the same era.

Buyers no longer have as much disposable income & won’t be as willing to pay high prices for used bags no matter how rare they are. People with money will want the more current styles & releases. I’m sure there will be some holdouts for more $$ but sellers who resell their collections because they need cash (which is likely to happen soon) aren’t going to be willing to wait for that one person to come along willing to pay some ridiculous price.

Just gotta be patient & resist the urge to overpay due to greed rather than value

I think there are a lot of sellers who think they can jack up their prices to a ridiculous degree after seeing the general increase in the resale market. It's pure greed in those cases.

Agree
I think we’re past the spontaneous buyer who will jump at the rarities no matter the price though. Between an increase in taxes & duties & 3rd party “buyer fees”, we’re seeing fewer people willing to pay for things they want but not necessarily need

People are getting tighter with their wallets. I’m not saying that we’ve seen the end of $3k Seafoams or Eggplants, but I suspect we’ll start seeing some people who may start selling their collections for $$ & are less likely to be greedy and more likely to be reasonable because they need cash.

Time will tell I guess.

All of the add ons certainly do have to be considered.

What the heck is that coppery shimmer? They say it's dk brown, but huh? Y tag. I kinda like it, looks grungy.

My best guess is it was Camel and then dyed dark brown, and now some of the original color is peeking through. Maybe whatever dye they used had a bit of a shimmer to it? I'm used to dyed bags looking flat, but this does have some depth to it.
A lot of leather dyes cause that metallic effect. It's a good way to tell that something has been dyed.
