I sometimes like scarfs on bags and I don't think they look snobby at all. However, I think the scarf is too big for your bag, it sort of looks like you were wearing it but wanted to take it off and had no where else to put it. Maybe that was what the facial twitches were about and not because they thought you were prissy.

I like wearing scarves with bags and do so on a regular basis. I have gotten many compliments not only from friends but also complete strangers. However, I think the scarf and bag need to be on the same scale, and I think this scarf is too big/overpowering for the bag as-is. Maybe if you tied it in a bow instead?

it's not my style as it's a bit too feminine for my tastes, but it looks great when other people do it. i love how the scarves look on prada psycho's bags and i think juicy charms look really cute on bbags.

I like the look of scarves or charms. I gave my wife a couple of purse charms for christmas....2 dalmations (our dogs). This one pictured is Maverick with a red collar and the other is Roxy with a brown collar (actually a coach collar). I need to get a pic of them on her bag.

I think it gives a really interesting change to your bag and can really make a difference.
You can also match it to your clothes...
It's really pricey, but can give you a new look to your bag...
I think I would invest the money in a wallet or something though.

I like bag charms. I think they change the look of a bag and add some eye candy. Plus, you can share them among your bags. My bag charm has come in handy in the grocery store when my baby was fussy. I know--expensive baby toy but it beats having her play with the BlackBerry! :) Here's a few pictures of my bag charms in action:

I love bag charms and wish they were cheaper! Like many of us, I'd rather invest in another accessory for that price. I've reallly been wanting the pastilles chain key ring in palladium, but I just can't see myself spending $450 on it for now. Maybe one day i'll invest in a charm because I think it'll really make my speedy stand out.
