I wwear purse charms on most of my bags... I make them. :) So I'm a bit biased towards the look.

I think if you like what you're doing, then go for it. :tup:

To me, that looks like you wanted to take your scarf with you and just couldn't fit it in the bag anymore. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful scarf and a lovely bag... but I don't care for them together.
I like scarves on bags only if the bags are made for them ie like the Gucci bag with the scarf woven through the top. But other than that I think it just looks 'off'. JMHO

IMHO, I like the scarf with a bag look BUT I think it should pair well and be a complement to each other. I think the scarf here might be overpowering the bag a bit.

That said, if you love it, then rock it. I've seen waaaay worse fashion ideas.

I think its a great look. I saw a picture with and LV bag and a beautiful scarf wrapped around it and I thought it was very elegant. Same thing with a Chanel bag and purse charm attached, simply beautiful. Don't worry about what other think, just be who you are and wear what makes you happy.

It is a bit to busy for my personal tastes, I have occasionally tied a bandana or pony tail scarf on a bag but mostly i stick to bag charms to dress my bags up.
but i believe in doing what you like and being yourself! so if you like it wear it with pride.

I like big scarves, and agree that something that was a little more subtle probably wouldn't have raised any eyebrows.

This isn't an everyday look, I understand that, but the lady at the post office likes it too!

Oddly, I didn't really think to start doing it until I realized how many random trips I take to collect and ship my mail. Mom taught me to always look my best and it soon evolved into the photo you see above :upsidedown:

I only do it if I know I can hang my purse (those table-hanger things are a Godsend!)

Sometimes I think that a charm and a scarf can be cute on a bag.

I got this bag last week at one of the outlets while I was on vacation. I bought the scarf and the charm when I bought the bag, and the salesperson offered to tie the scarf into a cute little bow for me.

OP, I think scarves on bags can look really nice, and I agree that you should follow your own sense of style and do what you like. There are plenty of jerks in the world and you'll never please them all. And who would want to anyway? :p

I think that scarf could complement that bag very well. Maybe you should experiment with some different ways of tying it. For example, you could fold it a few times lengthwise to make it more like a bandeau before you tie it on. To me, it is a little overpowering to the bag the way it's tied now. But if you like it spread out, then keep it that way.

Piss on 'em. LOL

Some people have trouble putting a scarf on too. I gave my Mum a bag and attached a co-ordinating scarf to it. She took it off because it come undone and couldnt get it the same. She said she nearly broke her leg tripping over it.

Scarves and charms on bags just aren't me, but if they're you, then no one shou'd be telling you to do anything but enjoy your own style.

Personally, my friends refer to me as the woman with the $800 bag in line at Walmart buying socks. It works for me!

I really love that Coach bag. And I really love that scarf. The two of them together look fabulous. :tup:

I'm always oggling purses as I stand in line at the post office. But most of the purses do look a bit frumpy. Some are outright decrepit and I wonder how anyone can carry such a thing. Yours would look like a rare flower among the clouds of gray.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE scarves on bags. I have a Coach scarf on my little black Coach bag I take out on the weekends (not too $, that way if it's ruined I don't cry!).
I have a Gucci scarf on my Michael Kors bag, which I would upload but the picture is on my camera, not my memory card and I can't locate the cable.
And I have a YSL scarf on my Linea Pelle.
