Now you're making me wonder what hair they'll have him with in the film. And is he looking beefier in these pics?
According to an interview the white shoes were a specific character choice made by Hunnam following research he did for the role. Many younger bikers (ala David LaBrava), in and around the Los Angeles area, wear similar shoes. He's said in interviews that he gets grief for it all the time but it's something he's not going to change.
I don't really think much of Hunnam as an actor but who knows what'll come of the FSOG role. I'm sure it was a lack of options more than anything else that lead him to accept the role, at least with this role he'll get exposure... hopefully that exposure won't be embarrassing.

I don't think it was lack of options. He's going to shoot another movie with del Torro which includes Jessica Chastain (no Benedict anymore) and he said before he rather turns down roles if not interested than just to do them for the sake of working. So I'm really curious how they pitched that to him so he took it. Either they turned the books into Oscar-worthy material or he wasn't completely sober while negotiating all this.
I would agree with you on Lady Gaga but not on Katy Perry (love her), it's all just a matter of opinion. The books were good, no they were not brilliantly written but I've come across a lot of books that were technically better written but not nearly as entertaining and fun to read. For me as a reader that's what it's all about. Obviously they held an appeal for millions, as much as those that trash them and their readers cannot understand it.
Hollywood often rushes in too fast to cash in on what's popular, maybe the fact that they took their time for this bodes well. I hope so, they were lucky to get Charlie so I hope they deliver.
You know, life is short and so full of ups and downs. If Lady Gaga or Katy Perry's music make people happy to listen to it, what purpose is there to put it down? Just yesterday driving in the car I had a headache, very little sleep but when Katy Perry's ROAR came on I pulled the windows down and sang out loud, it was my first real smile of the day. If you hated a book that others loved, what purpose is there to try to put it down to having bad taste? I just don't understand it. Live and let live. I've seen so much Charlie and Dakota bashing, he's ugly, she's ugly, it's going to suck, etc. Gah, not everyone is going to have the same taste but we don't have to throw insults.

I always cringe to watch videos like this because it has to be so awkward, but I'm totally jealous she got her Fifty book signed by him! He is so sweet and patient.

I think Charlie got caught up in the buzz about the film. There are about six articles on him on the daily mail website. There was always going to be scrutiny on the cast which seems to contradict Charlies personality and need for privacy. Pictures of his girlfriend are being plastered in different forums and news websites and the comments are unpleasant. I am surprised he took the role but he just might be great in it. Still can't get over Green street and how awful he was in that.
I hope she's got thick skin, all of them, people can be really vicious. At the end of the day she has Charlie by her side, meanness often comes from jealousy.
