I like learning from him. He has deconstructed a pink Chanel wallet I think and said it was heavily processed. In his recent videos he spoke about the price increase, you can watch that too. Surprisingly he said Polene bags are of really great quality, great craftsmanship, great hardware, superior than any of these other brands, but too bad I am still a fan of the classic Chanel styles.
I own the numero dix by Polene and it's honestly really well made. Despite it being made with treated leather (similar to caviar), when I took it out of the dust bag I was hit with the leather smell right away. It's been over a year since I bought it and the leather smell is still there

Maybe we could all tip-off @tanner.leatherstein on Instagram to dissect these seasonal bonded leather bags! That’s what he does on his page.

The more tips/messages he gets could encourage him to actually dissect these bonded leather bags. Lol.
Tbh I think he needs more than just more tips/messages to dissect some Chanel bags, some generous & ultra curious souls just gotta donate their CF's and seasonal mini flaps made between 2020 to now for science :amuse:

Yes and look like no one wants to donate their beloved Chanel bags for the gift of science.

The issue with these is that you have no idea if these are actually fakes you are looking at.

Let’s wait and see!

I Love all of my bags, have never purchased seasonal styles and know that mine are the most beautiful leather inside out so.. I’ll enjoy these for now ❤️

Exactly. How do we know these are actually authentic Chanel bags in those photos? A lot of fakes come from that same country. We all have got to start putting on our thinking caps more often and we’ve got to stop taking everything that we see on social media at face value, y’all !!

Where is the actual proof though?

Here I can confirm that my SAs say the opposite. It’s word versus word so how would we know

I second this. How can we take someone’s words on the internet as truth? Like another poster said, I would be shocked that an SA/employee would ever just tell customers this.

First thoughts that came to my mind was:

Why in the world would an SA tell a customer(s) that information?? :confused1: How would that ever benefit them? Doesn’t their entire livelihood depend on selling you more bags and other leather products, not giving out information that would deter them from making sales? Give us a name so that we can verify with Corporate ourselves ~ but of course, they will not volunteer to expose themselves, right

Why would that SA/employee risk losing their job just to satisfy the curiosity of a customer? Who then immediately goes spreading it on the internet for all, including Chanel, to see :wtf: They supposedly even said it was not to be discussed... so many holes, it doesn’t make sense. There is no actual proof. It is all Heresay.

No, I would never expose anyone's name. Im not here to argue with anyone, I know what these items are made of as do many other SA's. Whether they choose to share it, is up to them. I have been buying the brand for 20 years and have seen the change in quality. It's evident by the feel of the bags they are not real leather. If I choose to buy more, I at least know what Im getting.

People believe what they NEED to believe, because they are invested. It’s not rooted in truth as it’s a natural ego defense. We see it everywhere these days.

Developmental theorists would say only the evolved can see both good and bad in the same thing (person place or thing) concurrently, and still have a favorable opinion.

The SAs literally couldn’t care less about selling bags. They make no money on leather goods unless the boutique meets its quota for RTW & HJ. Plus, commissions are pooled now.
Has no one else noticed that most of the long time SAs are gone & have been replaced with a revolving door of young, completely clueless SAs? The only long time SAs that have stayed are ones that moved to VVIC “advisors” and even those are losing their patience.
Anyone who has a doubt about what materials Chanel is using these days, just call Artbag or Leather Surgeons and ask someone. If they know you, they’ll tell you the truth. If they don’t, they’ll say to send your bag in and they’ll examine it and let you know.

Sadly. My long time SA finally left. Was devastated. Was set up with someone younger and while she’s super sweet you can tell such a world of difference in her knowledge and even customer service.

I already left a couple of comments on this guy's IG and youtube channel. I really don't want to see this guy's account get shut down when he exposes some of the high end and powerful designers dirty little secrets.
Love him - I watch all his videos

Lets take you back to TracySH and the reason for this thread, she threw all types of chemicals and destruction at her 19 bag - its indestructible and resistant to everything. How many posts are there from ladies complaining they breathe in the direction of their cowhide flaps and they get scratched.

Which, ironically, made me like my 19s even more despite their not being leather. After the various chemistry tests, the “gloves came off”. Those have become my beater bags & I love it!

Now if only Chanel can nail down the right mix/process to create this glorious, indestructible bonded leather that can withstand the zombie apocalypse while remain to look brand new, I'd consider buying their 10k bags

Yep, me too. I had all of my 19s out to sell as many of them were new with the tags on. After your video, I starting using them as my everyday bags.
A few weeks ago, I was at the nail salon and someone dropped a bottle of polish and it splattered on my pants, my shoes & my light beige 19. I took the chance, based on @TraceySH video, I grabbed some cotton and acetone and it’s perfectly fine. Ahhh, the indestructible, bonded leather, highly processed Chanel 19.

As long as Chanel is honest about the material so ppl can make an informed choice

See? And everyone thinks we are hating on Chanel. Not so! Just calling them out on their pervasive use of non-leather leather ☺️ But hey, they will find our 19s in future archeological digs like “other things”.
