Yes it's made in Italy. I was going to return it for a maxi but I think this is more durable and I won't have to be so careful with it. Your thoughts ?

Hi. I own a caviar jumbo. I recently took my bag w me on a trip w my 6 month old. I didn't have to baby the bag at all. Just treated my bag like I treat all my bags. I don't ever place them on the floor nor throw them around. My bag did just fine. As long as its caviar & a dark color I would believe its safe to buy a classic. I do like the shiva...but nothing compares to a classic, IMO.

Yes I agree about the durability of this bag! I absolutely love it! I prefer this over The classic as its unique! I just wasn't sure if I should ask the boutique if they had 1 made in France or if these were all made in Italy maybe. It's prob me just being anal lol! But I love the bag enough to not care if I couldn't get a made in France

I was going to return my shiva but am going to keep it because it is much lighter then a jumbo or maxi and I want to use it everyday and I think this is a good choice.

I absolutely love the shiva, it has to be one of my favorite Chanel's, I just can't wait to purchase one! I have to be honest, and I like the shiva so much more then my maxi. Its so practical. Does anyone think the large size can fit an iPad?

I have the large shiva and yes it can fit a ipad in it. If you want I can take a picture in the morning with the ipad in it so you see how it fits.

I agree! I only bought mine yesterday and I can't stop admiring it! I love it more then the classic flap & think its such a perfect bag!

Further Details:
1. There's a zipper inside after the turnlock and flap (for extra security)
2. Inside has red cloth (not leather like classic)
3. Hardware: Rustic Gold
4. Crinkled Calfskin

I don't plan on returning this! I've attached a few pictures if you're interested.

I have been wanting the Classic flap for over a year now, but it´s just so expensive and everytime I saved up for it, I ended up getting something else. This one has the classic look for the perfect price. Thanks for posting your pictures, your bag is absolutely adorable, it looks great on you, I think I want one too :graucho:

I used it for the very first time last week! I was wearing a sleeveless blouse, jeans and sandals, it was PERFECT! The great thing about this bag is you can wear it casual or dressed up!

I see NO down side to this bag. It is a more casual look then some of the other bags, however that said if you're purchasing the largest size then you most likely are not concerned about how the bag would look with more formal looks. I am waiting on the small Shiva,( since my Saks Chanel boutique did not have the smallest size instock) to evalute for potential dressier occassions - not sure it's going to fit the bill due to then aged leather vs. a caviar or Lady Pearly finish. Plus the price is tolerable and if you will be using it frequently, imagine how much your actual CPW ( cost per wear ) will be!
