I saw the list from Hirslhleifers - Fall Act 2 that they are ordering it:

Hi TPFers-- I'm brand new to the forums and to designer bags in general. (I had a few mid-range ones years ago, but I don't know all the makes and models and colors and seasons and lingo... which annoys me because I'm kind of an information nerd and I want to know. :shame
Anyway... I just bought a Shiva bag on the spur of the moment (browsing around NM, fell in love with this bag I'd never heard of before) and I "need" to know all her background info. The bag looks exactly like the one posted above by GlamDoc, and the sticker on the box says "Fall Act 2, "Caviar," and "Gold" (salesperson's writing). Color is basic black/noir/whatnot.
1. My bag is about 12" x about 7"-- what size do they call this one?
2. My hardware is more like brass than gold[tone]-- it's more "rustic." Is there a word for this?
3. It's pebbly-- that's "caviar," right? But it's also quite shimmery.
4. Dumb question, but... why is this bag a "Shiva" instead of just a "flapbag" (which it says on the box)? A lot of them look like "flapbags" to me, just with different textures and embellishments?

Congrats on your purchase. I may be wrong but I think the size you have might be the same as mine which is the larger version of the 2 sizes made. I call the hardware brass usually but I'm not sure which is the correct term for it. Yes it's caviar but the reason it is called shiva is due to something to do with the finish of the leather. It's different to your usual caviar hence why it has that more shimmer finish. It is still a flap bag but its not the classic flap bag. I think this bag was a limited edition made for a specific season, but I'm not sure if it was seasonal just for the design of the bag or if the shiva in general. Hope this helps
Thank you both! I will learn all the lingo sooner or later. I'm the type who saves receipts and boxes, and needs to know the exact names of colors etc.
I have a feeling that this Shiva won't be my only Chanel bag.... I was sort of overwhelmed at the time but there were others that caught my eye, too. (Went in looking for Ferragamo... that NM doesn't carry it... oops, there's Chanel!... drool...)
