I purchased the Shiva (smaller of the 2 sizes offered, $2,900.00) from Bloomingdales at South Coast Plaza in late June. I have yet to wear it out. When I first saw it offered at my local Neimans I fell in love and had to have it. It was my very first Chanel handbag purchase - I have since purchased a quilted caviar WOC in black with gh, which is arriving any day now.
I would love to own a classic flap, but my budget at the moment won't allow me to... I am also a mom of 2 young children, and honestly, would be too fearful to use a bag that cost that much with my current lifestyle. Once, I purchased a Burberry bag and after only a few days of owning it my son accidently spilled soy sauce all over it while we were at a Japanese restaurant.
This Shiva bag is still way over my budget, but more affordable than the classic flaps and also has a look and feel to it of an everyday bag, yet extremely chic and sophisticated. I have posted a few pics of me wearing the bag in different ways. There is a pic of me wearing it crossbody, which may not look too bad, but I personally would not wear it like that because I feel it is too short on me and feels strange - I am 5'7 for reference. Although I would love to wear it crossbody if only the strap was a little longer.Attachments

Oh my goodness! I am so in love with this bag! I know I am soooo late in the game (I didn't really start on my bag collection until this year), but I hope I am able to find one! Love this! It looks totally gorgeous on you! EnjoyI got my Chanel Shiva Bag today in Black/Small size and I absolutely LOVE it. It fits my frame (5'2") and my style quite well. I can be a little rough with my bags so this calfskin is the perfect type of leather for me. I got mine as a 30th bday gift from the husband so I can't say anything about the price BUT I saw the classic small too and I just didn't like it for the price of $4400.
Further Details:
1. There's a zipper inside after the turnlock and flap (for extra security)
2. Inside has red cloth (not leather like classic)
3. Hardware: Rustic Gold
4. Crinkled Calfskin

So I'm not so sure if they still have any around any where but I haven't seen any the few times I've been in the boutiques again since then. When I purchased it I was told by the SA that this range was a limited edition so it's possible they don't have more but have reintroduced them with a new limited edition range like the one your SA in Chicago showed you
