I tried on a few pieces today but didn't take pictures because I was in the dressing room with my mother, who already thinks I'm a bit of a nut with all the time I spend on TPF. I tried on two sweater dresses - the black cashmere one with the pearl fastener detail at the shoulder, and another in black with gold metallic thread and lovely gold/brass colored buttons. They were both a bit itchy, but the one with the pearl details was gorgeous. I thought the black was a little funereal, but the boutique didn't order the aqua one in either the dress or regular sweater.
Also tried on wide legged black trousers with the cuff detail at the hem, but they only had a 36 and I needed a 34. They were lovely though, and the first pair of wide legged and high waisted trouser I've tried on that didn't give make it look like my crotch was down to my knees.
The last thing I tried on was a very form fitting black turtleneck top with some sheer detailing across the chest and thin pleats. It also had these beautiful little muted gold buttons up the sides. That was by far my favorite thing I tried, but it was $2,650 and I couldn't justify that for what is essentially just a black turtleneck.
Sometimes itchiness in a dress can be addressed with a slip - but if it's still itchy through that, then I tend to think it's not worth it. Depends on how much you like it. for the black turtlenck, you can always wait for sales.
