I finally found some items that will work for me.. Sorry no photos. I find when I'm not sure I take more photos to try to convince myself. When I'm sure I just say yes.

I bought the black and beige plaid jacket from the cosmopolite collection. The one with the pleated back. I bought the one without the scarf which I felt I didn't need. I'm planning to wear it with my A- line black skirt, black pants, jeans or leather pants.

My store has racks and racks of the popular cosmopolite jackets available. They have one or two of each on the floor but many more in the back. So I think for those still looking there is an excellent chance to find things. My plaid jacket wasn't ordered as heavily so I was afraid to miss out on it.

As I mentioned I also bought the black and navy belted jacket. The belt loops are being lowered a bit to fit my torso and they offered to make the CC detachable for me so I can wear the jacket open with the belt tied or looped behind me if I want. They are looking for the matching skirt for me. I tried the skirt in the yellow and grey color. It's an odd fit so it might or might not work but I have about a 1,000 things in my closet already that will work with the jacket.

I also bought this dress in navy. It comes with a CC belt and they are doing the same thing to the belt. (I don't know who originally posted this photo.) It looks good with the belted jacket that I purchased or with a cashmere or silk large format shawl and can be worn belted or unbelted. It's mostly wool with a little bit of synthetic mixed in so it's not super heavy.

I'm still waiting for my coat to arrive which I'm told should be any day. And that's it for me for this year unless I find something unexpected in Paris in the fall.

There were also some very nice knits and blouses that I would consider on sale but not full price. I tried the white cotton ruffle neck blouse. It was pretty but a bit overwhelming unless I wear my hair up. Again, maybe a good sale item. Although every time I say that I find that by the time the sale rolls around I'm over the item.

Photos when I receive everything back from alterations. And now I'm officially ready for fall to start.

I am so glad about the plaid jacket. I loved it. It was too heavy for me but it's amazing and I love the pleated details in the back. I think the dress is also lovely. Interesting about the popular cosmo jacket. My store has a few of those left and I even saw the longer black one w the door locks on the pockets hanging out in the boutique.

I've been gravitating towards the knits and tops and waiting for the jackets to maybe hit sale. I'm waiting for the winter runway items though they look heavier and also seem quite expensive :)

You made some very smart choices as usual. Of course we all love the blue and black belted jacket, but the pleated back jacket has a special place in my heart, I am so glad it worked for you.

I think that's a smart strategy. The knits seems to have sold out fairly quickly at my store but there are plenty of jackets. When the storage room door opened I couldn't believe how many were left.

Thank you. Not crazy about the alteration. I think I would pass. I have a thing about buying old sweaters. Unless you really trust the seller and believe them to be pretty pristine, I would pass.
Excellent point. My eyes must have skipped over the part about the alterations. Why have all the cute Chanel rtw items on therealreal been altered...I suppose this is the universe's way of telling me to be patient in starting my collection.

They all seem to be altered because the sizing and/or fit is inconsistent. I have jackets ranging in 4 sizes in my closet! That is ridiculous! As a test I pulled out a bunch one day and used a tape measure on them and as I might have expected, the shoulder, bust and sleeve measurements were pretty consistent despite the different sizes on the label. So either they were born that way, or I made them that way! Plus, women spending this much on a garment are going to be picky about how it fits or the look they want to achieve. 95% of all my Chanel has been altered for one reason or another. It is rare that I buy and it fits right off the rack.
