I think it looks great on you! High waisted jeans work well with this! Or maybe a high waisted skirt - mini or midi! Maybe a silk midi skirt with a print that has some white on it or black on it. Or a white or black dress inside - either shorter a-line or a longer straight dress.

Also because the sleeves are shorter and this a crewneck, I think something with a high collar and an embellished sleeve (like frills or something like that poking out) would be pretty!
Thank you! Great idea!!

Yes, with this jacket you will need a dress or high waisted pants/jeans, at least 10" in rise. Many 9" "high waisted" styles won't do.
why I passed on this and the lesage (there are other technical reasons too). too limiting.
also fwiw...we Asians have longer waist, so the fit/proportion might be very different with others. Alternatively you can take a size up and have the shoulders altered down, but with this collection, the shoulders are already quite generous...

thanks @Brooklynite! Your rise suggestion kind of made me chuckle. I recently read somewhere that low rise is coming back and I immediately went to the image of Britney Spears wearing 2-3” rise. I love the high rise trend and don’t want low rise to ever come back!!

@jennyy - The jacket looks gorgeous on you! I love it with jeans and a Breton shirt.
Thanks!!! I do like it with the Breton shirt, too.

Looking at how it’s worn in Chanel fashion shows, and to achieve the Chanel look (if that’s what you desire) in general I find Chanel jackets are mostly worn with lace top, embellished top, silk top or elegant collar top. To make the jackets (any length) look very casual bottoms are usually light or dark denim. In general for cropped items (including jackets) bottoms are usually high waisted long wide leg pants that that looks like you are creating some wind as you walk. For longer jackets, it’s made to look trendy when paired with anything showing legs and the focal point is what you wear below the knees, so stockings, boots, shoes (matching, stylish) etc. Everything else where possible the focal point is on the waist, so a belt or with tummy exposed or paired with lace underneath to look trendy.
The whole look is then accessorised.
Obviously in real life you can wear it with whatever you like depending on your own personal style and the suggestions above from other members are so right.

My boutique was sold out (or temporarily sold out) of many pieces in my size from cruise. I tried on a handful of things and only fell in love with this jacket. It smells like it could have been a return because there’s a light perfume smell to it. Anyway, now that it’s home and reality has set in, I’m not even sure how to style it? I’ve never had a cropped jacket like this—I’m guessing whatever I wear on the bottom has to be high waisted. No one wants to see my stretched out midriff. :yucky:
Any suggestions on how to style? AND does it look ok on me? Be honest!

More jacket try ons today! 2FDDAB78-4A64-4E13-84D1-3AE28F93474B.jpegMy correct size this time since I reserved it, but I should have worn high rise pants. This tweed is so beautiful, definite chf, but I don’t think I want to get another cropped jacket. Husband gave it a thumbs up.

I didn’t reserve this one but my SA let me try. Really pretty and good fit. I wasn’t sure about the crooked buttons but it’s actually not bad. Definite chf, but it’s too much white for clumsy me.

I reserved the greige jacket and liked it but I’m still going to think about it. Some CHF, not as immediate like the first two jackets. Sorry for the wonky quality pix. The lighting in the fitting room isn’t great. 14DB312E-4B47-4AC5-A5A9-B036603E68CA.jpeg
This last black one wasn’t on my radar and it’s reserved for someone else but I think I like it the most lol, definite CHF. I don’t have anything this length yet but the button placement on the top pockets throw me off, they’re kind of right in the headlight area iykwim. Another thumbs up on this one from the husband.
So that was my fun for today. These increasing prices definitely make me more deliberate in my decision making, so I’m going to marinate on what I “need”

Wow these shopping posts are making me feel very tired. I don’t think I would have the energy to try so hard to buy current Chanel, it’s never been my experience and so far I am quite happy with my own very small collection. Out of curiosity I asked my SA a few days ago, whether I had a bag limit or if there is such a thing in place now. She said I hardly buy Chanel bags and I mainly get RTW and shoes, no CJs either, so she has no problems getting me whatever bags I want, as long as Paris sends them and doesn’t cancel the orders. This is essentially what my London SAs say as well.

It's just really tiring to get the items that people want. I was in store last week for the preview and was able to picked up some accessories on the day, the SA needs to check my spending history to see if I can buy the 2 accessories I've picked. She even said if I ended up picking 3 accessories item, I have to let go of one :whut:. She is a really nice SA (don't get me wrong!), I just don't like these new policies....

This is just crazy ! Understand your disappointment - sort of takes the fun out of shopping

Michele, all the jackets look great on you! I love the lesage the best, followed by the check black one. I think the greige might look better in a size smaller. Maybe you can try it?

My boutique had received pretty much all of the cruise collection and everything was available in different sizes. They had lots of pieces from last year Metier d’art collection, this year Metier D’art, including the most popular jackets. I didn’t see much of fall winter collection, but I didn’t ask about it. The only jacket from that collection was this shiny one.
Maybe in Europe is different?

Thank you @TankerToad and @ari ! Yes he’s very supportive. He usually likes everything but in this case, he had clear favorites which helps my process of elimination. My friend and SA also had the same favorites. Between the greige and the black check, I’m more drawn to the black so I’ll have to wait for my turn at my boutique. What a way to shop, but it keeps me from impulse buying at least :noworry:

I think the fit is perfect on you. I like it on you with this striped t shirt. It’s a difficult jacket to style, are you willing to put effort? I wouldn’t wear it with slim fit jeans, I personally don’t like to expose my back side . High waisted wide leg pants/jeans could be an option, or a flowing silk skirt or dress.
