These all look great but the last jacket especially ❤️More jacket try ons today! View attachment 5251387My correct size this time since I reserved it, but I should have worn high rise pants. This tweed is so beautiful, definite chf, but I don’t think I want to get another cropped jacket. Husband gave it a thumbs up.

I didn’t reserve this one but my SA let me try. Really pretty and good fit. I wasn’t sure about the crooked buttons but it’s actually not bad. Definite chf, but it’s too much white for clumsy me.

I reserved the greige jacket and liked it but I’m still going to think about it. Some CHF, not as immediate like the first two jackets. Sorry for the wonky quality pix. The lighting in the fitting room isn’t great. View attachment 5251391
This last black one wasn’t on my radar and it’s reserved for someone else but I think I like it the most lol, definite CHF. I don’t have anything this length yet but the button placement on the top pockets throw me off, they’re kind of right in the headlight area iykwim. Another thumbs up on this one from the husband.
So that was my fun for today. These increasing prices definitely make me more deliberate in my decision making, so I’m going to marinate on what I “need”![]()

Yes and yes.General RTW question: Can I bring my non-boutique purchased Chanel items for alterations by Chanel tailor? And if so, is there a cost associated?
I love this jacket. And, I love it on you above. My only hesitation is IMO it looks like the top piece of a two piece ensemble. Something about how the white trim is cut off at the bottom. so I think it would be easiest with a scoop neck black or white dress underneath. Agree with @ari that it would look great with skirts and it would require careful styling; I like pairing chanel jackets with alaia dresses or skirts. I think it would also look cute with high waisted brunello cuchinelli twill trousers or cargos with some width in the leg. And if the pant is super high waisted, a long line bralette that just lets an occasional peek of upper midriff. I disagree with most who have weighed in to say a high necked crew or blouse. True, that is how chanel would style it, but IRL, a hard look to carry off unless you have a lot of heightMy boutique was sold out (or temporarily sold out) of many pieces in my size from cruise. I tried on a handful of things and only fell in love with this jacket. It smells like it could have been a return because there’s a light perfume smell to it. Anyway, now that it’s home and reality has set in, I’m not even sure how to style it? I’ve never had a cropped jacket like this—I’m guessing whatever I wear on the bottom has to be high waisted. No one wants to see my stretched out midriff.
Any suggestions on how to style? AND does it look ok on me? Be honest!

I wasn't charged at all - I think if the item is within 2 years of sale (or season), regardless of where bought, Chanel will alter for you. With my jackets they said I can have re-alterations as needed for up to 2 years free of charge.Yes and yes.
but the alteration wasn't expensive. I would say in my case it was below market rate.
i've had Chanel RTW purchased at both Nordstrom and NM altered at a boutique without so much as a question. i've also had boutique RTW altered in NM Chanel. so it's all interchangeable, free of charge. well, maybe i shouldn't say free of charge, i only know that i've never paid for an alteration LOLI wasn't charged at all - I think if the item is within 2 years of sale (or season), regardless of where bought, Chanel will alter for you. it might have to do with how busy their servers are at that moment. the small thumbnail pics you see on the search page will load quicker because they're using less CPU. whereas when you go in through the "jackets" page for example, you're requesting full size pics to load; the server may not be able to complete that request because too many people are on the website. speaking from practical website design experience LOLHow does everyone view the ready to wear on the chanel website..besides the lookbook? If i search ready to wear or jackets in the it tells me there's 56 results but if I click on it, but it loads nothing.
My experience is that it depends upon where you take it. For example, (at least until Feb 2020, when I last took something there and they haven't changed their policy) if I take any of my Chanel jackets no matter how old or where it was purchased to Selfridges London Chanel for alteration there is no charge. My understanding was that this was a policy at Chanel in the UK (department store boutiques are owned by Chanel) and maybe Europe.General RTW question: Can I bring my non-boutique purchased Chanel items for alterations by Chanel tailor? Thanks @880 ! You made a such a good point…it does look like it could be a two piece ensemble. Also, I love the scoop neck comment. I would rather wear a soft silk scoop neck as I am vertically challenged.I love this jacket. And, I love it on you above. @tanya^luv^purse, the issue with chanel tailors is that official boutique time to alter is usually weeks. unlike many members of the thread, I would rather pay third party and get it when I want it (within reason). I do a lot of shoulder and complex alteration. However. I’m not saying this is true of one premier designer in particular, but it has been the experience of several of my shopping buddies that if you get to know a tailor via a boutique, sometimes they will moonlight
I love seeing everyone’s try-on pics! Cruise hasn’t officially launched here but a lovely SA showed me a few things today. Apologies not the best photos - was rushing as the store was closing (impulse visit on my part). Sadly my store does not yet have the black crop jacket with white trim or the pink skirt.
For reference I’m 5’2 and usually size 34. Hope these pics are helpful!

Going to ask my SA about it now. It’s a slippery slope. Haha.I’m thinking the dove tee would be cute under the black and white cropped jacket.
Chanel tees usually are good quality cotton and pretty durable. The doves are super cute.
