Australia is the worst i think in term of tailoring cost. Any sale items need to pay for tailoring.
I suppose if we bring any jacket not from our local boutique we have to pay for tailoring.
And no hanger or garment bag after tailoring too.
Maybe someone with more experience from Oz can chime in.

My experience is that it depends upon where you take it. For example, (at least until Feb 2020, when I last took something there and they haven't changed their policy) if I take any of my Chanel jackets no matter how old or where it was purchased to Selfridges London Chanel for alteration there is no charge. My understanding was that this was a policy at Chanel in the UK (department store boutiques are owned by Chanel) and maybe Europe.

However, this year I took a one season old Chanel jacket purchased at NM Chanel to Chanel 57th Street in NYC for alterations and that cost some $$$ but not horrific.
If you are an Icon member at Nordstrom all alterations are free.

I also think that if you are purchasing Chanel from a stand-alone boutique or leased boutique and need alterations on that item (you just purchased) it is free.

I have no idea what the policy is in Asia.

Everyone here, please correct me if I'm wrong!

My sa still has this tee and I loved it at first until I saw the price of $2800 then I guess I got sticker shocked. Still thinking about it though, maybe I should just bite the bullet? I did buy the black and white trim jacket and a dress in 22c from her so I don’t feel too bad. Here’s the tshirt that I passed.

I passed on that one, too. I just felt it was too in your face CC logo. And the price. Yowza. But everyone picks and chooses what they will pay out the nose for. I bought the navy blue knit dress because it was very flattering on me.

should clothing of such a price point be effortless? Is Chanel able to withstand being worn on the daily with the usual wear and tear of daily use?

should clothing of any price point be effortless?

the end result should look effortless, but anyone who has figure issues or other concerns will have to expend some effort. i even have to style a tshirt, jacket and jeans bc I have a larger waist and longer torso . . .

can chanel withstand daily use

I’ve had two puffers (first sport ski collection and later); both very durable.
I’ve had some boucle that wears like iron. Same for some leather skirts and some denim pieces. It depends.

just my experience, YMMV

haha, I had the exact same question last week when I went in and tried 2022C. I liked a similar design black T from 21C that had a giant CC logo embroidery in the front and tied at the back for $2890, much better than the white Dove tee. But the price ... even though I can wear that tee everywhere, I am still not used to paying over 3K for a tee  I even asked my super nice SA why the white dove tee was a mere $1680 while the 21C black tee was $2890
BTW, I have been enjoying everyone's trying on photos. None of the collection worked for me - I tried the white dove tee, the black jacket with white trim that look so nice on Pigleto, the sweater in the material of that white cardigan with black trim that everyone likes, a very cute 21P cropped black cardigan with golden buttons in a very soft cashmere blend material... I was able to get a red 22C mini vanity case and cuff bracelet on the day it was launched though. Besides, a 21P cardigan in navy silk knit with golden buttons is flying to me now.

@Ailes Would you say the tshirt felt like a good quality?

How do Chanel tshirts run? If im typically a size Small, what size should I go for in a Chanel tshirt?

I think it's so cute but still hesitating at paying 1700 for a tshirt...assuming I can even get my hands on it.

I would say sizing is cut and silhouette dependent. I don't find Chanel sizing the same from collection to collection, and even with a collection different items may be cut more fitted or generous. I sized up on the "5" muscle tee, but probably could of gone with my normal Chanel size, however I wanted it looser fitting. I found that particular cut more generous that other Chanel items, and it wasn't cropped, it was a standard length if not a little on the longer side. On the other hand, I have another sleeveless Chanel tee that is much slimmer cut and not cropped but shorter in length that I took in my regular size, which works, but much tighter fitting. One other consideration is if you end up getting a larger size, it can always be altered. It's hard not to have sticker shock on the tees. I would say, however, that a key pro as it can be worn alone, under jackets. under sweaters, and offer so much versality that you can get to a good cost per wear, which can help quell the little voice in your head! Good luck with your decision!

I’m thinking the dove tee would be cute under the black and white cropped jacket.
Chanel tees usually are good quality cotton and pretty durable. The doves are super cute.

Agree @pigleto972001 @sheeby Chanel tees seem good quality and sizing can be variable.

For the dove tee specifically the material felt nice. It’s cotton and feels silky and durable. I tried size S. It’s a boxier cut which isn’t my preference. It’s short but not cropped. My only other Chanel tee is 36. I have relatively broad shoulders for my build so sometimes go up in size for my shoulders

HTH in your decision!
