Now we’re talking - you’re giving me hope. I’ll go and check out this option. At least you’ve set a precedent for me!
The larger size could be easily pinned to show you how it would work. Altering the shoulder, bust. the arms and the sleeve will be necessary, but that is easy to do by an experienced tailor. When I have sized up for jacket length, I have to do all of the above and sometimes it takes 2-3 fitting to get right, but it is worth it.

Edited to add: Please see previous post about nipping it in.

I’ll go and then chat to the Chanel tailors....

What if you sized up so that the sides would meet and it could be closed up? A larger size X2 might do it. I have done the dance of changing a C jacket from the original design. I was brave enough to do it only because the tailor had done the same thing for one of the SA and for another client. I was able to view the finished product before I took the plunge of purchasing. My change was much more drastic and involved changing the back of the jacket by taking out two pleats and sewing it up so that it was a smooth back. It then resembled the back of the Hamburg jacket that I love. None of the clients liked the pleats and the the idea that it looked like you had a flying tush that stuck way out a la Kim Kardashian lol!
May I beg for pictures to see what you mean? Would love to see.

I'm sorry to be honest, but I don't like this on you. I think the heaviness of the tweed is too much for it to be nipped in at the waist and it should hang straight. The shoulders are too large for you as well. The tweed is gorgeous and I appreciate that VV was going for a different style with the open sides, but...... she created a jacket that is problematic for many clients.
Well I agree and I am not getting this one because it’s a 36 and I rather get a 34 and not do so much to it. I too think the shoulders are way big. If there was less work I would go ahead have it done and my SA would ship it directly home to me. It’s more a mod pic for Hanash.

I remember that one Grace. It’s not as pretty on the hanger but it comes alive when it’s on someone. Very flattering silhouette:smile:
LOL! You put it nicely. It looks awful on the hanger. I jumped on it the day I saw another lady trying on the jacket with the finished alteration. All I need is a yacht to go with it. I am working on the chateau and the castle. All the things that the complete Chanel girl needs for her clothes :P
