Hi ladies, I’m new to Chanel’s RTW so I’d really appreciate your expertise around here  This look from the latest Haute Couture show really caught my eye and I would love to get this jacket when it comes out. Any chance you guys know its price range? I’d imagine a Couture jacket would be priced higher than the regular ones? Would also appreciate advice on when I should ask/reserve with the SA.

Couture is made to order by appointment only. It requires at least 2-3 fittings with head seamstress from the haute couture workshop, either by you going to the haute couture salon at the 31 rue Cambon store in Paris or they will fly the head seamstress in wherever you are to see you.

Only RTW collections will be made by standardized sizes and ship to store to be reserved. For HC you have to inquire and have the Couture team reach out to you to schedule appointments. I don't know anything about HC prices but I'm guessing 30/50k and up for jacket? I'm sure many other knowledgeable ladies here can help to estimate pricing.

Thanks for your insights! Wow now I feel quite silly thinking that it could be acquired in a normal boutique setting! It makes sense though that it’s only made to order given how extraordinary each piece is. I guess I will keep doing my research and see if I could experience the normal RTW line first lol!

My understanding is that not every boutique offers Couture appointments, I think it’s only the large boutiques in the large cities… I don’t know what the requirement is for getting an appointment tho…

I think for jackets especially evening jackets and embroidered pieces there close to 100k or more now… very pricy but it is completely handmade to your exact specs.

I have asked about this before and I am fairly certain that almost everyone would need to go to Paris for the necessary fittings - members of the atelier do fly out from time to time, but I believe this is very limited (e.g. New York, Dubai). Most cities (even the very large ones) do not have a sufficient number of couture clients to justify the team going out. My recollection is that you also need boutique director approval to move forward with the HC process - in other words, it is likely that you won't be approved unless you are at least a long-standing good client of that boutique.

Don't feel silly! I asked my SA a similar question when I was looking into what I wanted to wear for my wedding. I feel a bit goofy now, but I was only just getting into RTW at the time and had no idea that there was such a big difference between RTW and HC. To be honest, the jacket you are looking at is lovely, but I have seen similar pieces pop up in the RTW line (at much better prices). My personal take is that the gap between HC and RTW has really narrowed during Virginie Viard's tenure - many of the pieces she includes in the HC shows could fit right into a RTW show.

That’s very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I’m in Toronto, when our flagship first opened I heard that they would be offering couture appointments (whatever that means…) maybe that was just a one time thing because it was a new boutique. but I didn’t enquire further, I’m only a couture customer in my dreams…

I am in TO too, actually! I asked about the process some time after the flagship opened - if there were any couture appointments here, they would have been a one-off for sure. We definitely do not have sufficient couture customers here to justify the atelier heads coming out  I definitely can't afford HC either - when Karl was around, it was a bucket list item for me, but I am far less interested now that he's gone.

As per above posters, it may be easiest to inquire for something comparable in the current RTW line for fall/winter. It seems like something VV would reinterpret for RTW. :)

Hey don't feel silly. Dream big haha. It's honestly unreachable for everyone. And yes echoing everyone else, it's true that it will have to be a flagship boutique for them to host couture appointments outside of Paris and the client have to be a long standing couture client. Some brand's haute couture is by invitation only as their ateliers are limited in (wo)manpower and many pieces might not even be offered for you if there was other client from the same continent/social circle have bought it or they have bought the right to the outfit globally. It's a fascinating world of the rich.

If you look at the tag in the back of the neck, the top line will say 02 and a letter, 02 is the year 2002 and the letter is the season, my guess would be 02P from the lightweight nature and color. P= printemps (Spring).
Actually, I think I found it.
Nicole you are so sweet!!!
I researched last night but I didn't find the actual jacket!
So cute!! It was 50% off of 750, I feel so lucky! Thank you again :)))

Thanks for your kind words  Dream big indeed! It’s even more expensive than my wedding dress that was made to order by an elite (but local) brand lol!
